It\'s interesting that it\'s predominately red or green -- those are contrasting colours. Look at something red for a moment, then turn away and blink. The afterimage will be green.

Technically the opposite of red is cyan. Green has magenta as its opposite. The optical tests of fatigue in the cones aren\'t that precise though
