I\'ve submitted three pictures as CrazyIvan, and would very much like comments on them.

I\'m brand new to this, so advice is helpful. With luck, better pictures by tomorrow.

Ok some comments..

First it would be helpfull to make a link to your pictures, because a lot of people are lazy an don`t make them the work to see after it over the gallerylinks.
Ok I`ve done it :)
So you are brand new? very good stuff for a beginner!!! Ok in what you should improve....
first try to improve yourself in painting \"clean\" ( means not to paint over the lines e.a. the yellow of the shirt on one of this guys) this is the half of the way to become perfect :)
second: shading and highlighting is very important to get a great style on a mini!!! here on CMoN there are tons of articles about this stuff so READ IT!! IT IS VERY HELPFULL!!!
Me for myself search there advise for special things until today.
third and last part..... BASING!! To base a mini ceative is like the dessert after a good meal. Try to clue some stones ,skulls , mushrooms or what else on your base.
Do this and post your new stuff. I think we will see a step by step improvement of yourself.

I agree with DeltaDog, you should post direct links to your pictures. Or if you want to tell someone about a pic of yours, you can also give him the unique ID of the file on CMON. The CMON page has a handy edit field where you can enter this number and jump directly to the correct mini.

Anyway, back to your submissions: for a beginner like you they are very good. I think you have a lot of potential: a steady hand and an eye for details.

I suggest you start reading articles on mini painting on the web and try out a new technique on every new model you create.

Also: try to visit these forums regularly, and don\'t be afraid to ask questions! There are a lot of people who are ready to help, no matter what the question is about. And if you see a great mini and you wonder how a person did something, just send him a private message through CMON.

And last but not least: browse the pictures on this site by voting for them. Save pictures you like on your hard drive and study them later on.

Good luck!

I agree with the comments posted by colleagues above. Almost as important as being able to paint a mini well, is being able to present it in its best light. Your painting skills will undoubtedly develop, but you will need to develop camera skills in parallel in order to appropriately show off your skills.

Welcome, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments.

Highlighting is what really intimidates me (more of the drybrushing type on all of these models), but shading...

the ink washes didn\'t really show up in the pictures, but the next batch (of both minis and pictures) should be better. Experimenting with facial highlights as well.

As for the pictures...my nice digital camera is broken, so these are actually grabbed of a digital video camera. We\'ll see if I can\'t get something better.
