A Simple Request

Thank you guys!

Gotta handle these types of situations as best as possible you know? I got my crying and extreme stress out of my system before I arrived. Then when I walked into his room at the hospital just burst into tears when I saw him. I knew before I arrived I\'d be arriving to say goodbye. Since I knew that there\'s no point in really being a mess. Gotta stay strong for the rest of the family, to help my parents where I can, to keep things as normal for the little one (got a 7 year old brother as well as an 18 brother and sister).

Currently I\'m at home with TJers babysitting him while everyone else is picking the plot and getting clothes to the funeral home. I already broke out my paints as that\'s the way I cope with things, I paint. I\'m currently painting a Reaper Elven Paladin in red armor. Joseph was always a kind caring soul who wanted to do right by everyone. His favorite color is also red. So, it\'s kind of in memorium to him.

They did catch the shooter and another person involved. The shooter has already been charged with first degree and was wanted for other things anyway. The detectives are still trying to find the other kids involved. Since it was a revenge shooting (kids got kicked out of the party and came back with a gun) it\'s being treated as premeditated (hence the first degree charge). I just hate to be so far away when the trial is going on. Personally I want to do the same thing to these kids as they did to Joseph. They don\'t deserve their lives and they should be tortured the same way he was. That\'s the anger speaking though.

For everyone who will donate blood I thank you. Just one pint really can make a big difference for someone.

Meg, I am truely saddened by your loss. The thought that someone could do that is amazing.

Unfortuneately, after having given for years and somewhere around 2 gallons between 4 different agencies, I am no longer able to donate thank to some work I had done.

I\'ll drag my wife next week in your behalf.

Laugh when you can, cry when you have to. Take the time you need. I\'ll say a few prayers for your family.

Tight lines,
Kevin.

Meg, I\'m sorry for your loss. I\'m going to check if I\'m old enough to donate, hopefully I can.

I hope you and your family get through this fine in the end. Joseph will be missed.

My deepest condolances!

I actually work at a laboratory and do blood transufsions every day. So hearing about 30 transfusions for one person gives me quiet an acurate feeling for this critical situation...This is so sad it turned out this way.

Of course I donate!
And it makes no difference if your blood is rare or not cause common blood is needed more often. Other thing is that its better to do it regulary, cause blood bags are only fresh about 2 months.

So keep the blood running guys (whereever you are)! We need all your support, you wouldn\'t believe how many people need blood every day!

Oh... I\'m very sorry to hear that, it\'s truly awful. Why are people so impulsive and cruel? I don\'t even know what I would do if my brother was killed, I can\'t even imagine. So needless to say you have my utmost sympathy.

As for blood... I gave on Saturday so I\'ll have to wait 50 days before I fulfill your request. Hearing things like this reminds me how important it is to give, the blood may not have worked a medical miracle in this case but often it DOES, and half an hour of thirty people\'s time is nothing compared to someone\'s life.

thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Just do what you can and please better yourself in someway if you can\'t/don\'t want to donate blood. Just take something away from my story and what happened to him.

If you have kids definitely monitor the friends they hang out with. If you have a funny feeling about someone, listen to it. Make sure they only associate with people you want them to associate with.

Very sound words of advice Meg.

I am truly sorry for your loss all of my thoughts are with you and your family. Such a tragic waste of life.

Like so many others because of my current situation I am unable to give blood but will be at the next blood donation drive as a volunteer to see if I can\'t get more people to do so.

Stay strong.

As long as this story can make a difference in at least one person\'s life for the better that\'s what matters.

Please do something to better yourself, your community or a loved one who may have started down a troubled path.

How utterly futile. I can\'t even begin to imagine your pain but having a 19 year old son I can relate to how empty my life would be without him.
Stay strong for your family\'s sake Meg. You and your family are in my prayers.
