A Temporary alternative

I threw up a forum on my own server today, nothing special, no bells or whistles. Its simply there to act as a temporary forum for those who want to stay in touch with Cmon\'ers while CMON is being updated.

Hows the loading time? I\'ve got the server on a T1, and not much eating up the bandwidth, so I hope its pretty fast for visitors.

I\'m pretty sure, although I only went there once to register. Some CMONers are already on the forum of Doom, and there\'s the WotC and PP sites. Or is this just a temporary \"patch\" to hold us over? I think I could last a day or two without posting. Probably be good for me. :)

Just a temporary patch, I wasnt sure if there was another forum that many CMON people congregate at, so I thought I\'d help.

Don\'t get me wrong, I think this is a very nice idea. Gives the addicted posters somewhere to go. lol

I was just pointing out that some people already have alternates. But none are as good as CMON. ;)

Yep FaMP does have a forums. Unfortunately it doesnt work about one time in 5 (or at least thats the way it used to be) and fo months now ive been unable to figure out why!

Actually, this is a plea, to anyone with knowledge of PHP / MySQL who fancies having a look through the code and seeing if they can figure out whats wrong. Pop me a PM with your email and ill send the scripts over. Thanks!

So that\'s where a certain voluptuous member has been hiding out lately. lol Until now, Sturm\'s been quite happy in the CMoN cathouse.

I\'ve poked my nose into the FaMP chat once or twice, with little or no activity. Perhaps CMoN downtime could be supplemented by real-time banter, name-slinging, general surlyness, vitriol and lye?

It took me quite a while to figure out that I had to set up a new database on MYSQL, and then do it through the command prompt. I dont have a good knowledge of PHP, thats why I used PHPBB, and let that set itself up on the new database. :(
