A very idle wip

Painting my first mini in over 2 decades.
Gladiator from the Spartacus boardgame. Only done the skin and started on his skirt, everything else is just base coat or primer.
Wasn't a heap of detail (specially on his face) so really wanted to push the contrast. May have pushed a little too far.

Welcome to the wips and back to the hobby. The skin looks pretty good especially aftet a hiatus. And there can never be too much contrast.

Thanks. The skin on the next one will be better (well.... I hope so atleast).
I'm pretty damn pedantic about most thinks I do, so I only really see what I need to do better.

Yes you just need a contrasting colour in there to make it pop more. Everything is quite red
at the moment. Keep at it

That's Ok, it's actually feels good to stretch that side of my neck at work. I mean, during leisure time!
the shading looks great, mate. I'm pretty sure that once the highlights are on the belt, it will make the whole thing pop.
