Of all the times i could have gotten a painting block i got one now!:( (actually just recovered from one too.)

Just in time for the Golden Demons. I\'ve only half finished one entry and the other one is still bare metal and greenstuffed. It\'s strange cause i was really looking forward to start painting it. But when i sat down i just didn\'t know where to start or even what colours to use!

Only so much time left for GD day! What do i do now?!

Sorry guys! Just had to rant!

Tim.

When I find myself in that situation, I usually surf miniature pages for a while, visit all the forums, look at pics of GD winners (the models, not the painters ;)) and such. That always sets me in a good painting mood and I get a lot of inspiration from it.

I find looking at the mugs of all the other CMON lot really inspiring...

who am i kidding?

watch an inspiring sci-fi or high fantasy film... that might help you break through the block! Something like Conan... or from the look of the trailers, Chronicles of Riddick looks visually appealing...

Surfing CMON usually works for me. It helps to have a clean desk too, since it is less likely I\'ll get distracted by the junk on top of it.

Good point Errex! When I reach that stage a rousing round of cleaning up the painting area makes all the difference. A nice clean area that I can then make look like a warzone again as my minis come to life... AHH it\'s the simple things in life (like my cluttered mind for instance).

I do a few things when i suffer from painter\'s block. clean not just my desk, but my room, inventorize my pile of \'to be sorted\' minis, cook a very mean curry, go out to the movies and try to put painting out of my mind for a bit. this generally works for me when i\'m having normal block, I have had a few severe cases of \'I hate mini painting\' this year, which, thnakfully, was only a fase :)

Hmn... I took your advise and watched Labyrinth for the millionth time! Those Goblins.. :flip::bouncy::flip:

Tomorrow i\'m gonna roleplay for the first time in like 3 years. And later get very drunk! Now if that doesn\'t help, what else will! lol

I feel for you, I\'m having exactly the same problem. I\'ve not even finished the conversion work for my first entry. Major rethink of what I\'m gonna do methinks.

Hope you get over your block soon :)

Block....block.....block.....

...not so much block as painters apathy (if there is such a thing)

I spend Monday to Friday thinking I can\'t wait for the weekend \'cos I want to paint and the weekend arrives and......zip..... I end up here

I look at all the lovely pics, interact with you guys about your models and just can\'t seem to get on with my own. I\'m definitely in a \"just can\'t be arsed\" phase at the moment :( :(
