Has this ever happened to you? Built your GW model, set it on the paper, shake the primer can really really well. Prepare to spray and then before your very eyes the plastic under the primer begins to melt? It has happened to me bfore and usually I just try and sand it off or throw the afected piece away. This time it happened to a Land raider and not in one little spot, it happenend down the whole side of the land raider... $%$####!##!! Is there any way to stop this? I used GW primer on GW products.. By the way the other side came out just fine.. no melting? what is causing this mystery melting?

Enemy fire. With some damage modeling you could have an interesting peice. As to the actual cause of damage, I have no idea.

i have never heard of this happening before. you should speak to gw and take some pix. as it\'s their products, you should be within your rights to ask for a refund

This has also happened to my figures occasionaly, in those cases it was always some trooper kinda guy who was in the middle of about twenty others, so it didn\'t bother me that much. In this case, first of all I\'d take photos of the destruction. If you have a GW-store nextdoor, pay them a visit, and show what has become of your model. If you\'re not close to any GW retailer, I\'d get in contact with their customer service/mailorder and send them the photograph. Most of the time, I think, when GW screws up something (besides the prices that is) they are quite good at replacing parts or otherwise setting things straight.
Anyway: good luck!

edit: and I was beaten to it. Nevermind, the advice is the same. It would be nice to not only get new parts to replace the damaged ones on your landraider, but maybe they\'ll even replace the primer... ? you never know; since that is what\'s actually caused the problem.

Hehe, could just as well take advantage of the situation and make a terrain piece of the melted parts! lol

sounds like there\'s some kind of contaminant either in the spray or on the model itself, you could try washing the models and drying them well before painting, another thing it could be is a reaction to the glue and the fume affected areas around the glue. i agree with some of the others, try and get a refund and hopefully keep your melted one as a terrain piece.
