Addam Marbrand Trusted Bannerman and Jaime's Vassal

Oh man I was really confused until I realized you were talking about the unreleased Hero 3 box.

According to that logic as long as both Jamie and Addam are alive you would have to target between them and you could use the tactics cards. Even if Jamie is dead I would argue the tactics card would be usable on Addams unit for consistency.

So that's why I referenced the previous thread. Michael ruled that Ned NCU doesn't target because you don't have a choice. Kingslayer's Renown and Kingslayer's Infamy aren't triggered off of Jaime's unit but rather a friendly/enemy unit doing a thing. I did mis-read Kingslayer's Prowess, so that does target because of the trigger. So I guess Marbrand's ability is there for one tactics card that you have two copies of? Again, just want to make sure that's right.

Id have to agree, Kingslayers Renown and Kingslayers Infamy aren’t targeting Jamie’s unit so that innate wouldn’t proc. That does seem kinda weird to have an 2 point ability for 1 card. Seems like “This counts as Jamie lannisters unit for tactics cards” or similar would have been better. Wonder if CMON will chime in…

Would it not work the exact same way as Nute and Victorian? All three of Jaime's tactic cards have "Jaime Lannister" in their triggers. Am I missing something?

It does. Perhaps that was their intent after all. I’ll also point out that Nute brings up the original discussion about a requirement of “target” being selecting one of multiple units. Since Victorians cards happen during an attack action there is only one possible target even if Nute and Victorian are in play. Thus that doesn’t seem rationale, and as long as Nute/Marrbrand is the recipient of the cards effect they can be considered targeted.

This targets an enemy unit.

I just realized since Jamie can be in long range of himself, Kingslayers Renown IS usable on Marbrand. My bad everyone.

But you can't use Marbrand as a Long Range focal point for a unit other than his own. I'm not saying that makes it completely worthless (it would allow Marbrand to operate outside of long range of Jaime and still get the bonus) but it doesn't feel like the intention of how the ability is supposed to operate.
