Adepticon 2018

Hi all,

I am *seriously* considering Adepticon and Crystal Brush next year. It is pretty far to travel, so I think I'd like to stay for a little while and see or do something else while there, or I'd be bored out of my mind alone. But what? Any and all suggestions appreciated, I'd also love to know who's going!

Glad to hear you're thinking about coming over for the show! A big perk of the show is all of the seminars taught by a bunch of top painters, so definitely look into those. Many fill up fast, so I recommend signing up for any you want as soon as registration opens. And there should be a bunch of us regular CMONers there too.

With that long a flight, I can definitely understand wanting to make more of a trip out of it. There's quite a bit to do in Chicago, I'd definitely recommend checking out the Field Museum while you're there. But, it really just depends on your interests. Are you looking to just spend time there or would you want to see more of the country? You could fly from Chicago to New York, Philadelphia, or Washington DC pretty easily. Or, head down to Florida or check out New Orleans. There's a lot out west too (Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, San Francisco, Las Vegas, LA, etc), but that's a bit of a longer trip. What sort of stuff might you be interested in?

@Bailey - hmm, well, I am generally into all kinds of nerdy and pop culture stuff. I like museums and the like, but don't see myself spending a lot of time wandering museums on my own. I love to travel solo, but once I get there I quickly go bored unless I have people to hang with or something to dive into.

I'd love go city hopping, maybe visit the West for the first time or see NYC again, but I'm not sure if this will be the time for it. There are some one chance only things happening in Sweden in the same period, so right now I am looking at what can be combined - might be that Adepticon will have to wait until 2019, on the other hand I've wanted to go to one of the big cons in the US for a long time, and not sure if I want to wait another year....
