Any chance you will have available your DVDs for sale? I'm having a hard time finding your first DVD anywhere, and would love to get my hands on your new one too.

We finished the first painting class...man, was that a treat! So a few lessons learned that I want to share with this communities, hopefully it will help someone who is new to painting.

We have 3 beginners in the class, so the range of skills varies from someone who just started painting 3 months ago, to a pro/commission work. In the end, everyone (me included) learned something new! Jeremie shows a new technique to blend, and make them faster...that's one of my big take away.

Most beginner painters are looking for steps/linear approach to painting. But, that is not the case. So I've read argument that we should primed with white primer...well Jeremie decided to use black primer for the class =-) In fact, his entry to Crystal Brush is primed in black! Yet he manage to get those vibrant colors. So there's no use of arguing about black primer or white primer...depends on your style.

Jeremie doesn't have a set of ways to paint colors...like that DVD series that someone tries to do. He starts of with a base color that he likes...it doesn't matter the color. Then he finds something darker and lighter (in the same tone, of course). He mix color to his liking...and it's not precise (as many advance painter knows)...just what he likes. So it's not painting by number, where I start with Blood red, and add a drop of this to blood red, and two drops of that. I know it can be challenging...I use to think (long time ago) that painting was that way, but it's not precise.

Last one that I want to share, and this will messed up some of the new painters, Jeremie didn't dilute his paints =-0 He just transfer his paint to the wet pallete, and start painting. Yeah...really!

So anyway...hope this helps. I will post pictures...after crystal brush. It was quite a treat to see the piece...but what makes this worth all my effort, is that I get to see the piece being brought to life right before my eyes. One student request for a free hand demo, so he demonstrated that using actual competition piece...in class, with 9 people looking over his shoulders.

The area is about a size of a dime...and he manage to finish that area in about 40 minutes. I was just blown away.
