Advice for metallic metals?

Hi,
Can anyone advise me how to paint metallic metal paints?

I'm painting a chaos Abaddon. I tried Gehenna gold shaded with Wyldwood contrast paints. Unfortunately the result was very shiny. Do you have any advice how I can improve the result please?

The shininess I am referring to meaning the contrast paints was glossy. I am not complaining about the shininess of the gehenna gold.

If the gloss is coming from the contrast paint, try applying a matte varnish once it's fully dry. You could also use a matte wash instead of contrast paints for shading metallics. That usually gives a more natural finish while keeping the metallic effect...
