Hi,

I'm painting the figure mentioned in the topic, and would like to have the back of the cape with freehand.
The idea was, that I'll paint a LOT of leaves, but I jut can't make it good.
So far I tried to do little ovals with a pointy end, but it just doesn't look good at all.

so I'd need a few tips on how could I paint freehand leaves relatively quick and to a good quality.

thanks.

That's a tough order at the best of times. Bottom line, it's certain to be a matter of practice and experience to get better at it (both in terms of speed and quality).

Thanks for the tips.

btw, she looks like this so far.
The back of the cape is where I'll want to do the leaves. So far it's only a base color without anything, but I hope I'll have time this weekend to work on it.

Looking good so far. It's usually a good idea to practice freehand on some primed scrap at the size you'll be working, particularly if you don't have a lot of experience doing that kind of thing it's best not to dive straight in on trying it on the model.

Oh well,

as I thought I still suck at freehand, but it's still better than what I thought I'll be capable of.

Also because of the MiniatureMentor video I tried to create webs. I have no idea if I succeeded, but doing them is fun,
, not really technical, just playing around the cottonwool until I think it looks ok.

So here is the 'finished' mini. A small monkey (actually a Jokaero) is missing, but that will be released only next weekend, so until then it's on hold.
