Advice on colour scheme

Hi guys.
I have this awesome mini:
Note he is very large, that shaft is 20cm long!

And I've been puzzling over his look.
I started off looking at birds of prey, but for the most part they are brown...with interesting and complex details

Then I thought about where in mythology such a beast might best fit, and looked up images of quetzalcoatl:

Which is more appealing as it's going to create a more dynamic mini that stands out.

But is it too colourful?

What would you guys do?

I'd edge towards something colorful myself. Look to tropical birds (i.e. parrots, etc) for inspiration.

Duller colors on the wings, brighter on the headpiece and staff.

Looks quite Tzeentchy. Blue body, yellow hands/feet, wings going through the rainbow. Plenty of opportunity for drama in colour clash with subtlety in the transitions.

I didn't know Tzeench had any specific colours!
