Age old question: black or white primer

As I get closer to the point of actually painting my Blood Elf army, I\'m a bit of a crossroads; I\'m wondering what primer I should use.

These guys are going to have a lot of metal on them, so it\'d be better to go along with black, and I want them to have a little bit more of an ominous appearance.

On second thought, I\'ll be painting a lot of red and flesh tones as well.

Anyone run into this? Normally I just use white, but I\'m not sure at this moment.

Any feedback would be great.

It usually takes fewer coats of black to cover over white well than vice versa; have you thought about priming white and then just basecoating the areas intended to be metallic with black?

Prime black, and for use Mechrite Red to undercoat red areas. That\'s what I do for Inquisition, and I still get a bright, brilliant color.

I\'ll be trying grey for the first time soon.

I\'ve finally realised the niggling feeling I have about chaos black spray is that it\'s quite \"plasticy\" once on, even if you\'re very sparse with it. Don\'t know if people will understand that? I know what I mean!

I do like GW white spray in small amounts, but don\'t always want to spray in white, so I\'ve decided it\'s time to try Tamiya Grey.
