Great to find something when you\'re looking for it. I\'ve picked up a few dragons, lately, either for myself or for my wife to paint. Currently, I\'m working on Reaper\'s Gauth, and he didn\'t need too much filing to fit together properly, though I had to do some putty work to make the wings stay. My wife\'s working on the Reaper white dragon (forgot its name) right now, too. We also have Dragons Don\'t Share (incomplete painting) and Reaper\'s Shadow Dragon (painted by my wife, finished, and going to be posted soon as I have my camera). All comments will, of course, be welcome.

Yup, I\'m seriously happy to have found the bugger - and yes, as far as I know, and as many have pointed out, it is a real bear to put together. I think has a great pose though so if I manage to get it done decently and without tearing out my hair, it\'ll be worth it.
Sadly, I\'m thinking I might loose some hair.

I don\'t think I\'ll have it painted any time soon, though I may be mistaken. Right now I\'ve got a few things on my plate for a friend, a sale job and some other things that I\'ve been \'pointed\' towards. Besides, I think I\'ll try my hand at painting a bit longer and see if I get it together a bit more before I start on this behemoth.

Yup, they seem to be fairly hard to fine and so far I\'ve only managed to see two of them on Ebay in the last .. four months I suppose and they seem to be abominably hard to find in any stores. If you\'ve got one, and don\'t ever plan on putting it together, you could probably make your money back on it rather easily and sell the bugger. No surprised that guy accosted you asking you if you wanted to sell it!

Oh naturally its the gift that keeps on giving. Youngest daughter brought it home Tuesday the 15th. She promptly gave it to little brother. They stayed sick till Friday and then we thought all was well. Then Saturday comes around, my oldest one comes down with it in the morning, I get hit about three hours later and the wife about an hour after that. Nasty stuff, fighting over the restroom, one would start vomiting which would set off a chain reaction with the other two (oh lord). Looks like everyone got over it - but it decided to stay on in me as something \'else\'. It sucks. And of course the doctors go \'well its viral, not bacterial, so nothing we can do\'. Makes me want to throttle the bastards.

That\'s a nice dragon - agree with you though, think I like the WotC pose better, but that certainly is a nice one.
Personally I like the heck out of the Reaper miniature line, especially the dragons. I\'m interested in Viridian, Verocithrax, Marthrangul and of course this latest one Ebonwrath. Pretty penny to spend on them though. We\'ll see how I do on this WotC one and then go from there.
Now personally, I\'ve never painted anything quite as large. Is it a bit more of a challenge or do you think it is easier? I\'m curious. I\'m tempted to say easier as long as you used properly thinned paint (lack of brush strokes and such).

I prefer larger dragons to smaller fiigures. They can get a bit tedious though, especially if you plan to meticulously highlight each and every scale as I did with Traukzul and Trogdor. Plus they do hurt your hand if you hold them for too long. In fact, when I did Gauth I mounted him to a base and then attached that to my tripod and that really helped to speed things along! (although I believe that was the time I also drilled a hole in my finger!
@ Frustrated - Hrm...now I\'m curious to see if I have an extra. I didn\'t actually pay anything for it when I got it, because I got it through the employee store when I worked for the company that I fondly remember as Lizards on My Toast. The one that I do have is half-built. It\'s been pinned and glued except for the neck to the body, one of the legs to the body, and the horns onto the head. No putty yet. I think I lost patience with it and didn\'t want to destroy it, so I stopped working on it...and never quite got back to it. ^_^
@ kittykat - Ya know, I\'m glad I\'m not the only person who put a drill bit into some fleshy parts. I think the last time I did it was because I was using a low-speed dremel to make holes for pinning on a resin. A little too tired when I was doing it, I\'m afraid, and went right through the entire piece before I realized that something was poking my hand.
