Hi All

I was hoping for some advice on what airbrush equipment I should get. I am purchasing my first airbrush a HS evolution 2 in 1, what is the difference between this and the silverline. I have a compressor sorted. And would lime to know what other equipment I should have to start me off

Should I use dedicated airbrush paint such as vellagio air, to learn. And can I thin my regular gw, reaper, vmc paint using water.

Also any recommended uk stores to make my purchase.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers hob

Here are some things you'll need:

1) Airbrush cleaning fluid
2) Airbrush hose - Personally I prefer coiled hoses over braided ones. Depending on the compressor you get, it might include one.

Here are some optional accessories that can be useful:

1) Quick release adapter - These are handy to disconnect easily for cleaning (looks like the Evolution already includes the male end of an adapter)
2) In-line MAC valve - Can be handy for fine-tuning pressure adjustments, without having to adjust the main regulator on the compressor
3) Airbrush holder
4) Airbrush cleaning station (like this one); it doubles as an airbrush holder, too

For paint, you can thin out regular hobby paints. I use equal parts airbrush thinner (by Vallejo) and water for this purpose. The Vallejo airbrush paints are pre-thinned, although they still benefit by a little extra thinning.

Thinning paint for airbrushing in general is a skill you'll have to practice until you determine what works for you.
