I just read a good article on airbrushes (I\'ve never used one) in an osprey book on tank painting, and I find myself wondering: does anybody use airbrushes to paint 28mm? is it possible? is it worth it? is it one of many tools?

all infos most welcome

Possible but not practical. Some airbrushes can draw a VERY thin line but I would think that in such confined and tiny spaces on a mini that over spray would be an issue. If you already have a good one you might give it a go, I know it\'s been discussed here hypothetically quite often but cant say I\'ve heard of anyone going beyond priming with one.

I think most people that paint 28mm use the airbrush for priming or painting vehicles. As Shawn has said really there is a limit to how much and how effectively you can mask off a figure and at 28mm unless it is a giant or one of the fat men GW call Ogres it just isn\'t worth it.

Probably not much more that needs discussing at this point, but yeah infantry don\'t really benefit from anything except speedy basecoats. Tanks and vehicles can be done (well a lot of the work can be done) with airbrushing and masking off areas though.

28mm doesn\'t really lend itself to Airbrushing, however the larger scales, 75mm and above, that get seen at the likes of Euromilitaire are often done with Airbrushing.
For those scales there is a level of smoothness that the Airbrush provides, which is very difficult to replicate by hand, mostly evident in Flesh tones.
