Airbrush decisions

Well, last night my airbrush died a final death. It's been pretty decent considering my cash investment in it wasn't too much, but I think it's time for me to invest in something a bit more high end, as I'm using it more and more.

I'm looking for something that's going to be pretty good as a multi-purpose jobby but is capable of doing high detail. Money's not really an issue (which is making the gadget loving idiot in me desire the Iwata CM-C Plus because it's dead fancy, but my more sensible side is telling me that its better suited to particular tasks, not multi-purpose spraying) but if I can spend a bit less that's a bonus.

I'm seriously tempted by the Iwata HP C PLUS, but have also heard good things about the Harder and Steenbeck Infinity Two In One. Has anyone had a play with either or both of these? I could do with some info about how they work for various tasks. The technical stuff listed about them means a lot less to me than the opinion of someone who has used them for mini painting.

Well for what you're looking to do the choice between those two isn't tough! Custom Microns are specialist airbrushes, even Iwata themselves say the CM-C Plus is for pros only, and it's around double the price of the H&S.

Thanks Einion, the H&S does sound like a good and versatile choice. The more I've looked at it and its features the more sexy it's become in my eyes. For some reason the fancy adjustment dial on the back makes me smile. I think it's because my previous airbrush was so lacking in precision when it came to the action. I learned to work around it, but this one looks awesome.

I may have to place an order at the weekend.

I love my HP-B. I've never had a problem with it. Meticulous cleaning is a necessity, but that is true for every AB I've shot (including Aztecs).

Flip side, I've no experience with H&S so I cannot help you there.
