Airbrush questions from a complete newb

Figure I'd add my thoughts to this thread as well.

Being in the States, all these cool shops you guys link to are not as useful to me. Instead, we have the Internet version of Walmart (and all the soulless connotation that goes with that) to the Internet version of your Mom & Pop stores.

Amazon!

I'm about to pull the trigger on this:

http://www.amazon.com/Iwata-Perform...essor/dp/B001POCI46/ref=reg_hu-rd_add_1_dp_T2

Iwata HP-B+ and a compressor that seems to be a small step up from RavenHex's (includes a moisture trap, if nothing else and I've heard that's important).

Thoughts? Good deal?

You cannot go wrong with the HP-B. Love mine.

I'd hold out for at least a moisture trap / regulator combo. Lots of times you want way less than the 20-30 psi that the compressor is spitting out.

State-side, you've got
bear air
dixie art

both great places.

I think the one I linked has both.

Smart Jet has a Powerful 1/8 hp motor that features auto shut-off, air regulator, moisture trap with filter and gauge, airhose and built in airbrush holder

So this one is not so good?

Got an offer for one of these and a couple of airbrushes, 1 looks like rubbish but the other could be fine for shooting paper towels and generally getting started.

What about this guy:

The G35 with 'toy' compressor. Looks like they'll ship and weight is not serious with this duo

Compressors and guns are not so available here and what can be found is about 1/3 more expensive than in the UK so it's a bit of a mission.

I've got an old Badger diaphragm compressor that I've had for 30 years. Works great.
Seen others (not Badger) that won't last a week.

That little baby compressor in the second listing is ok for finger nail shooting.
