I\'m fed up with always starting up new threads so here is my permenant thread blog type thingymajig. Work so far on my thunderbolt pilot:

From the pictures i would say the face needs more depth and the shoulder and neck pak things need to be a little brighter.

Righto,

Jumpsuit looks good, maybe push the contrast a bit further with highlights, trying to keep them a bit zenithal in placement.

Padded shoulderpads, need deep shading and more solid highlighting to emphasise the shapes.

Face, as you say, could use more shading, and indeed more highlights. Try adding thin glazes of red to cheeks, lips and nose. And maybe darken areas such as the inside of the upper lip, top bit of the eyesockets and under chin.

I would suggest also that you paint the eyes with a dark brown, pick out the eyes smaller in a light off-white and paint thin light fleshtone highlights for the bottom eyelid.

Thanks for the advice, i agree the face needs a lot of work. My and sam (sg2009) were debating about a nother higjlight on the suit, i said yes he said no, i guess i was right lol

Small update. These are two 1/35th scale german tank troops for my panther g i am working on. Some minor sculpting needed on all the joints, these figures are pretty crap, but quite cheap. I have also sculpted a few better pockets and a cigarette in the sitting guys hand.

Jumpsuit looks much better now
Meybe try introducing somne cold tones to the shading of the face
Vest looking good, try pushing the highlights just a wee bit further on the top of the \"sausages\"
Padded shoulder-guards still need a fair amount of work, try deepening the shading with brushstrokes between the pads, intensifying the shading near the bottom of each shoulderthingie.
His helmet also looks good, although I think you need to neaten up the red stripe as it\'s not so straight up by his armpit

What you\'ve done with the germans is looking good so far

Over the handlebars on my bike twice today, once my fault once not. have about a sqaure inch of skin missinfg on my hand.

Updateage:

Started the marine conversion, the sword fell of but will be easy to fix. Tried to keep this mini very \"clean\", particularly pleased wiht the eye lenses so far.
