Finally got Alice finished up if anyone is interested to see her. The montage is on my work computer so i'll put it up in the morning. In the mean time here is the linc to her. I hope you like this version of her, she is so much fun to paint.

edit: adding pictures. I had two versions of her with different backgrounds. I finally settled on the dark background. Did I make the right choice?

Well done! Nice skins and work on the dress. Perhaps the images are a bit on the wee side for an 80mm.

Thanks Avelorn. I am still trying to figure out how to get the maximum size on the site. I don't have any tools like photoshop or anything, just my simple photo album thing that came with the computer.

Still think you went with the correct background but its all to everyones taste. Super blues and skin (as usual)
also +1 for the playing cards facing upright this time (my idea, my idea *jumping up & down*)

Might check out Photoscape and Gimp. Use both of them myself and they are free.

I think I may have voted for the lighter background at one time, but the darker one was the right choice.

Dark was definitely the right choice. As always, your work is exceptional - I can't fault the skin or dress at all.

Oh, and +1 for GIMP. I have it and photoshop, and tbh I use gimp more.

The model is beautiful man!
Excellent skin tone and the highlighting over the alternating white and blue on the socks is flawless.
You definitely chose the right background as the other one draws a bit of attention to itself and makes the mini look a bit too dark.

If you're interested you can send me the original photo files in email or something and I could edit them, just so you can see how they could look. It's pretty impressive what can be done with simple steps on free software. It's also the least I could do ;)

Hmmm... I was sure I posted something about this figure the other day. Oh well.

Very well done. I think the stripes on the stockings look excellent. Getting that to look nice is not easy. The variations in the blond hair are also top notch. The only thing that could have made this cooler was to paint the Queen of Hearts as one of the cards... but at this scale I imagine that would be close to impossible. I'd say the dark background was definitely the right choice. The second one makes the figure look dark or dull by comparison. She seems to pop much more next to the darker background.

By the way, did you make the mushroom she is holding or did that come with the kit? The other versions I've seen all have her with a teacup.

Thanks guys for taking the time to post. The stripes were harder for me than any freehand I have ever done. Yeah, she comes with a teacup, but since I used it in the first version I wanted something different so I made that little mushroom.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment and vote!
