You got what you deserved !!!!

What the hell did you expect ??? Witty dialog, a great plot, etc. Basically you got what Hollywood could sell, which was some lame story to fluff out a few fight scenes and some special effects. I haven\'t seen it yet, but a friend said it was good if you want to see some good special effect. You expected it to violate rule one of a horror film, which is the less you show the monster the better the movie will be? Of course the alien vs prediator battles will be few and far between!!! No matter what anyone here says, I will see it this next week just to see a few special effects, who cares that it isn\'t a \"good\" movie. By the way, I saw Freddy vs. Jason, it was awesome. It wasn\'t a \"great\" movie but had a few funny parts, a couple scary parts, ending in some lame ass fight scene, in other words exactly what I expected. If you want a \"good\" movie, see Spiderman 2, if you want to see some Aliens and Predators surrounded by a lame ass story, go see AVP.

You are wrong. I expected a good movie. It is a sequal to some of the greatest monster movies of all time. It ticks me off that a hack was hired to direct this and probably ruined the future of both franchises.

With all do respect I disagree. Quality has nothing to do ith the ability of a sequel to be sucessful and profitable. Take Friday the 13th and the Nightmare on Elmstreet series. The first movies were great, but kept getting progressively worse, did this stop Hollywood from making more, NO! I recently heard that the Police Acedemy cast is reuniting for another lame ass movie that will make a ton of cash I am sure. This movie does not spell the end because it is all about money and if it amkes a profit you will see more. If you feel you have a good script, by all means send it to someone in the movie industry. I would like to see a \"good\" AVP movie, but to expect a \"good\" movie IMHO is setting yourself up for disappointment.

By the way, if they ruin the Blade series with Blade Trinity you will see a rant out of me that will shake the gates of hell !!!! LOL

But the third movie has to come out so Blade can find out Darth Vader is his father! :p

I think since all these villian fight movies are coming out, the next logical step is obvious: Abbot and Castello Meet the Predator... It would be great for the joke when Lou sees the predator and then he\'s cloaked by the time Abbot comes in.. :D

I\'m trying to figure out how, exactly, it could be worse than Blade II.

Lemme just give you a hint on Trinity: HHH plays a vampire with solid gold fangs. That should tell you something.

i thought all in all if you let your mind slip and think of nothing at all it is an ok movie...the ONE MAIN thing that bugged me was they are in antarctica right....so why cant we see ther breath when they exhale?

The stack of unpainted miniatures on my desk is testimony to the fact that I\'m a good little consumer. That doesn\'t mean I shouldn\'t expect a quality product. The only interesting ideas in the whole film were basically stolen from earlier Alien versus Predator products.

Cause alien breathe doesn\'t show up in the cold. It\'s cloaked with some high tech alien breathe cloaking technology,... gotta go, time for my lobotomy and shock treatments...

I saw it last night and I enjoyed it. Sure it wasn\'t Oscar nomination material but I can name at least 10 movies off the top of my head that were worse.
The CGI on the Aliens was great, the photography was cool, the slow motion face-hugger leap was neat.
The only real complaint I have is that they changed the Predators mouth.
I thought the idea of the temple was cool, it explains how certain civilizations have just dissapeared, it also explains Atlantis.
All in all, I\'ve wasted money on worse pieces of crap....ie. Battlefield Earth (shudder) :|~:|~

I really enjoyed it. Very entertaining 1.5 hour movie for a Friday night. All my buds had a good time too. Hope to see more A and P on screen in the future. Nuff said!

Things that would have helped this movie along a little better.

Less Human introspection. The humans are there for bait, we all get that, no need to poorly try and personalize the extras.

Humans last perhaps a slight bit longer. Since they\'re the only ones who really talk, might have provided some comic relief.

A STEADY FOCUSED CAMERA! Every fight scene that might have been cool was either too close, out of focus, off screen or just plain bouncy.

Spend less on the scenery/setting. The details in the temple (those who have seen it know what I\'m talking about) were largely unnecessary. The big ice-cutter ship with tons of specialized equipment they never used. A remote arctic whaling station that is so remote it\'s not near water until the last cut scene ???

A real \"Fight\" scene. There were two, repeat two, decent AvP fight scenes but they were very short lived. I say we let the predators and humans prove themselves rather than just dealing with them in quick succession the way they did. Very easily could have added another 1/2 hour\'s worth of work.

Overall, I came away with a feeling that the filmmaker\'s fumbled with two very popular, cult creatures, spent too much time, money and effort with the setting and scenery, and fell short (perhaps financially) in dealing with the AvP \"Hunt\".

Though, I will give props to two moments in the film that I thought were just cool, though some may find them ridiculous (since they could have been handled in a different manor).
The moment the youngest Predator sees the Queen. And the moment the Predator gets a good jump on the Queen.

Just some thoughts from a guy who is not an Alien or Predator fan-boy

I guess my biggest beef was it was too short. Felt rushed and compact. They could have spread it out, added a bit more fighting and some character development.

I also don\'t remember the Queen being the size of a T-Rex, but I could be wrong.

The last alien I met was almost reptilian and his body acclimated to the temperature of his surroundings therefore you would not see his breath when he exhaled. It would be the same temp as the air he inhaled.lol

Just kidding. Haven’t seen the movie yet and like Dennismech, I will see it no matter what is said about it. the original novelization was very good. I will however wait for the DVD as it is much less expensive to buy the dvd the week it comes out as apposed to spending the money on a movie......
