All Public comments are moderated???? Not bloody likely

Ok I have had a bit much off this- I keep seeing posts by Horak89 that tell people to F-off or that they paint like \'poop\' (he uses the s-word though ). Exactly who is \'moderating\' these comments??? Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor? It seems pretty obvious that you can put bloody well whatever you like so why even pretend?

There used to be a time period between when you wrote a comment and when it went up on the site, now they seem to go up instantaneously. I dunno why it changed

I am the one that moderates the comments. It is not only likely, but I spend about an hour a day moderating comments and pictures. I am not Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor either. I am not the only one, however, I think Chern from time to time does it too. We do have ways to make our moderation faster, maybe that is how these comments slip through. If you see stuff like this, just report it to chernann@coolminiornot.com and he will look into it.

lol sorry borg/Chern didnt mean to imply that you two were a bunch of clowns/comedians- its just that I seem to run across this bozo\'s comments all too often and they are never anything nice.

Unfortunately that comes with the popularity of the site, you will get jaded people and younger kids. I am actually surprised how mature it has been overall here at CMON considering the amount of traffic we get.

Just report it whenever you see them and we will try to take action.

People like Horak89 would be the only people who were allowed to post anything with Murphy/Pryor eagerly standing behind their shoulder helping them out with \"creative\" insults.

All of us who try to make an effort to give creative critic and advices would get a personal E-mail telling us not to come back here until \"you\'ve quit the effing boy scout routine\" lol

Mr 89 has no idea of the \'hoo hah\' he caused as he hasn\'t logged in for over two months. Perhaps he\'s found another hobby? Pulling the wings off flies, glue sniffing, mugging old ladies etc. Perhaps his mum just confiscated his computer???

Nice one finn....To all whom have received such a vulgar and/or, thoughtless critique, remember the source is lacking in brain cells and not yet mastered the use of the English language. Perhaps he never made it out of the fifth grade and/or, lost his facalties from all the afore mentioned glue-sniffing episodes?!

Actually, there is still a delay before your comments are posted publically. They appear immediately on YOUR screen, though. I remember Chern posting something about this in Feedback. They were getting a lot of people double posting comments because, when they didn\'t see them they thought they\'d done something wrong. To fix this, he made it appear instantly for you, but not for the general public.

I agree especially if you\'ve had a really stressful day. It\'s very difficult not to look a the 5,277,691st, score 3.1 \"Another figure\" with thick paint all outside the \'lines\' and not tell them to give up, put the whole lot in the dustbin and slit their wrists cos they\'re that bad.
I don\'t know how full time teachers ever manage to keep their cool.

However if we don\'t bite or tongues and write a constructive comment then they will never improve.
(Ahhhhhhh Chill pills have finally worked ........ Ooooooh look at all the pretties!)

Well, while we are on the subject. I will tell you what I am doing personally to fix some of these problems.

1) I have started check file size on images not stored on CMON and refuse to approve them. Sometimes, it is not just the image size, some servers are just slow, but guess what, if it doesn\'t load on my T1, it is going to be a problem for most people.

2) Blury images and thumbnails are now rejected.

The first issue causes the site to load slow and the second is just an open invitation for bad comments.

So, with that said, the whole purpose of comments is to give the poster \"constructive\" advise so that he/she can improve. Some people can\'t paint as well as others, and many of you are spoiled by looking at paintjobs by some of the best in the world on this site, so be nice, and if you have nothing nice to say, well, you know what to do
