Plain simple Ingrish to me.
Oddly, I understand what they are trying to say, kinda .:confused2:

I remember the good old days, where the instructions were written by a very qualified ENGLISH SPEAKING person!

Of course, the goods have always been made in Asia...but at least we had instructions to hold onto!!

It's a testament to the error-tolerance of English grammar that this sort of thing is usually mostly comprehensible anyway. And my French is worse than that guy's English, but then again, nobody's paying me to write things in French...

I was in a museum in Japan, and they had English plaques underneath the Japanese. I really, really wanted to get a set of sticky notes and correct the bad English, but didn't have the time. I felt really bad for the museum too, but nothing I could do.

english is so hard to learn, going from another not-related language. we can't even manage to speak it as natives! it was harder for my tutor to learn english than it was for me to learn his greek. it _is_ funny to try to read engrish though.

Heheh! I bought my son a RC Heng Long Tiger tank..... it must have been written by the same copy-writer with these instructions too! Priceless :D

From what language is that translated?:p If I'd translate it back to dutch it kinda makes sense in that line of order

There are pretty classic (i.e. awful) Engrish!

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance has a plausible explanation for why they tended to be like this. Unfortunately these days instructions don't even have to be translated for them to be this difficult to understand.

Is it just me or is that quoted bit there nearly as unintelligible as the OP? :brushwave:

This thread is my life. The really finny part is the literal Korean translation is even weirder. It reads, 'Mother's hand flavoured soup'. But that is not the weirdest. There was a fruit drink in Korea that went by the name...'Cool Piss'.

HA HA HA HA! ! ! !

Er, no, it's not just you! That first line should have been "These are..."

If you're having difficulty with the second bit it's all you though :snicker:

 Well, in light of the correction to the former, the latter makes much more sense...

Incidentally, you can find some outstanding examples of Engrish at the dollar store. ;)

as long as they have the first and last letters in place and the same amount of letters..
