Am I asking too much??

Is there\'s a thread on How To Make a Mold and Cast Your Own Miniatures? from an original GS sculpt? Or, perhaps someone could direct me to a good site? I have found the articles on sculpting, but no success on mold-making, etc. Is this a task which should be left to the professionals? Has anyone on CMON done a cast from their own sculpt? Am I asking too many question???????

I used to help my first husband mold his own bullets for use in his antique, Civil-War muzzle-loading musket. Would the process be similar?

Any advise, or assistance and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Faye

Yahoo groups has a casting group, and 1listsculpting at Yahoo groups is also a good place for info about sculpting and casting.

Well, I\'m not sure. One of the guys I know used to work for Heritage in the 1980\'s in Dallas. Contact me off list and I\'ll get in touch with him and see if he\'s willing to help you out there Faye.

I\'ve found various sites which go into some detail.
http://www.princeaugust.ie/
they will make a custom mould from your master for about 80euro\'s ($80+) from which you can cast your own mini\'s.
Andy Foster from Heresy also wrote 3 articles in Harbinger mag (issue three contains the moulding of the monster about the casting of the Netherlord.

Amazon miniatures in the UK are a friendly bunch and cast on their premises,
seem to be looking for sculptors.

I found various otherbits and bobs but have some fav\'s on my PC at work so will find them when I can.

Am I rambling again ?

They sell everything you need to do resin casting. I have used their products many times and have not had any trouble so far. They even have a moulding rubbuer that you can make a 1 piece mould that is quite flexible so you can cast parts with no seam line.
If you need more help let me know.

Primeval:...funny you should mention this group as I joined it just three days ago....haven\'t had much time to research their articles yet, but it seems to be mostly about sculpting so far.
Thank you!!:D

Steelcult: Thank you!! As my email address is located on my personal page, I guess it\'s alright to list it here: kaleidoscope74@excite.com If your friend, or you can help, just drop me a line..and it\'s nice to know your name, Lloyd!:D

schobbies: Thanks, Steve...I will check out that options. It would be very nice to have a mold without seams!!:D

Greymane: In a round about way, I know Paul(the owner) at Amazon Miniatures and he does seem to be very friendly. That wargaming cover I designed and painted, was for the game \'Legends Of Araby\' to use with his Araby figure line. Thanks for the other links as well.

My first sculpted figures are turning out so nicely, that unless I have copies, I will never be able to paint these and sell them outright....:( And, I\'m not certain that I have enough money to allow someon else to cast them?????

Thanks again, for all your help,
Faye
