Thanks so much to EB for starting a thread in my honor, and thanks for the cake, (and the corrected version) and all the swell birthday wishes.
All of you have really made my day!
We had a lovely vacation. Almost the entire supervike clan (mom and dad my wife and kids, my brother-in law, my sister, their kid, my nephew) shared a cabin way up north in Minnesota on a huge lake. My brother and his family and in-laws also shared a cabin in the same resort area. We did lots of fishing, sun bathing, family bonding, eating, swimming, etc. etc....I even told my youngest nephews (ages 5,5, and 6) a terrifying ghost story by the campfire. It must have been a good one, since they all ended up in tears and didn\'t want to go to sleep....
I even brought some miniatures with me to paint during the quiet evening times. Both my older nephew (15) and one of the 5 year olds want me to get them started on painting now).
Then to really make it fun, there were \'bigfoot\' sightings in the woods near where we were staying...

Glad you had a good time on your birthday.
Actually yes...I am really not too much of a fisherman. My dad and brother just love it so, I do it to make them happy. Mainly we were going after Walleye, which are fun to catch and good to eat, but they were few an far between....Tons of perch and bluegill were caught though, and it was plenty for a few fish fries. (which is the best part of fishing!)

There is nothing like the taste of fresh fish.
I miss that about living on the Gulf Coast.We could usually catch anything we wanted to eat just by getting inthe care and driving for 30 minutes. One of my regrets is that I didn\'t go deep sea fishing for red snapper. Now thats good eating. lol
Let me know when you want to try some of the bigger fish. I wonder what these guys taste like. Link
