Am I crazy or is this a Space Marine bolter?

$35,000 per gun, huh? I want a few for the zombie apocalypse. Also the technical manual, so that I can strip and clean it.
Also, a few of those soldiers that have had a few minutes to become proficient in its use. I can't hit water from a boat.
Guns and I don't get along.

Mix that with that automatic shotgun with a feed drum firing self-propelled rockets that was posted here some time ago and *BAM*

Don't fret about the zombie apocalypse. The real threat is the monkey uprising. It's coming.

This is a really interesting development if it works as advertised in the field, I do hope for the infantrymen's sake it's as good as the hype.

Wasn't this profiled on Future Weapons last year? Not sure if it was this gun but the programmable ammo was for sure.

Zombies shrug off physical damage, I think a good rifle with an ample supply of ammo would be a better bet.

This would probably work better against monkeys :glasses-cool:

The only real flaw I see with this weapon is the same flaw I would imagine a bolter having. Collateral Damage. In a war where enemy combatants mix with non-combatants this weapon isn't usable. (much like the M203 40mm underslung grenade launcher) It's a great weapon if you're on a clear battlefield and you know that you're only going to kill combatants. Otherwise it's just too risky for use. (same reason the M203 is used intermittently.) Also to say it invalidates the enemies use of cover is kind of misleading. It negates cover to a certain radius.

Not saying it's a bad weapon, or even a mediocre weapon. It's a great step towards a better weapon. But it's only useful for certain types of warfare that you're hoping your enemy has the scruples to uphold.

On an uptick this is perfect for Nuclear Armament escort units. They are instructed not to consider collateral damage when terminating threats. The LOAC is a bit different for them.
