Amature mounting

man, i thought this topic was going somewhere else..... oh well, luckily i can respond to the other question.
back when i was playing with super sculpty id use a piece of wood with one hole in it partially drilled down and stick the guys metal rod foot in there while bending his other back. then again my armature was much bigger and i made my own so im not sure how it would be done with a mini armature. as for the sculpt...... HULK SMASH!!!!!!!
if your making your own youcan sculpt one foot further down so you have something to stick into clay or wood or some other base.

Personally I thing amateur mounting would be a more interesting topic...

Tut tut, amateur mounting is no laughing matter. It\'s a serious problem that plagues many of my friends, and/or fellow students.....
In response to your question, I\'m not really sure what the problem with the sodder is, it should be working. You need to make sure that you are cleaning the places on the armature that you intend to sodder with steel wool. There\'s also a kinda wax you can buy to put on the joints where you are soddering to help \'em stick. I don\'t know the name, so any \"craftier\" people out there know what this stuffs called? I\'m just drawin\' on tech class experience here. Hope this helps....

Sodding solder...
Right, my 2c:
1)Used tinned wire available from electrical retailers, this is specially made to be easy to solder.
2) Clean up the joint before soldering with either wire wool or fine emery cloth.
3) Use a good quality flux, or \'multicored solder\' (The core consists of flux).
3) Heat the joint and apply the solder to the wire, not the soldering iron.

You will find that not all corks are suitable (actually I usually use the vinyl/plastic ones which I cut in half) and you need to get both leg wires in deep (10mm at least) so you can avoid using any glue.....afterall you want to get it off there!
Finn has covered the soldering there but I would add that it makes it easier if you twist your wire together before you solder and remember to rub down the whole length of the wire with fine emery paper (the best way and it only takes a second) before you start ...but obviously don\'t do that if you use tinned (or pre-solder coated) wire.
