American Civil War Minis

Hey Guys,

My dad is a civil war historian and reenactor for the Confederate States of America. I told him I needed to paint him something new to show off to people (he\'s still showing off my stuff from two years ago . . . ). Anyway, I wanted to see if I could find a ACW mini of Brig. General Corse. That is the general he portrays in the group Lee\'s Lieutenants. If anyone can recommend a great site for historical minis I\'d be thankful!

This may not be specific enough, but here\'s a link to a British company that have historical lines. Their 25mm range might suit? They don\'t have that particular general, but they do have Lee and some \"generic\" officers. Unfortunately, they\'re very short on images, but maybe they\'d be able to sort something out via email? I\'ve dealt with them before and they were quite good.

I checked Perry Miniatures too, but they only have the War of Independence, not the Civil War.

Redoubt don\'t have Corse himself but they seem to have plenty of other generals to choose from. Linky

Old Glory as you might expect do quite a lot of A.C.W. stuff but it\'s all in packs Another linky

Dixon have a nice range of confed infantry in 54mm and an extensive range of single figures in 25mm. Their 25mm stuff always looks a bit cartoony as they have a melonhead style, the heads are too big and the legs are a bit short. They\'re quite fun and very cheap though. One more linky

I\'m sure there are plenty of other US companies that do A.C.W. stuff but most of the companies I know of are in the UK. Hope the links help though.

Try these Dixon Miniatures they do 25/28mm ACW and I have just noticed that they have started a 54mm line in ACW as well so it looks like when I go to Salute in April I will be spending a bit more than expected :( better start saving now I guess.

They are a british company and I didn\'t check to see if they ship abroad but if you have any problems PM me.

oh I know I\'m going to have to convert a mini to get it to look like Gen. Corse. Dad already warned me about that because he\'s not a well known from the war.

I\'ve yet to find a good US ACW manufacturer. The ones I\'ve painted for dad thus far were from Shenandoah minis in Oz. The main problem I\'m running into is I can find infantry but not many generals.

I\'d prefer to do 54mm instead of 28mm for this one.

If you want bigger have a look through these ranges as there are plenty of Confed officers scattered throughout the different manufacturers.

It\'s a Spanish company but I have it on good authority that they are reliable. If nothing else it\'ll hopefully point you towards a good manufacturer.
