Holy Cr@p!!

I wanted one of the exclusive mail order only figs from the Rackham website in orderto start a different looking dwarven chariot.
At 5.5 euros, I thought that would be reasonable. While I was there, I figured I\'d pick up the new Varsÿm cynwäll at 9.10 Euros. (Such a cool pose!)
I went to check out and my total with shipping was 32.10 euros..
I removed the Varsÿm cynwäll figure and my total was still 23 euro. (30.38 US dollars and only 7.27 Us dollars was for the single mini.) How the hell can sending one seven dollar mini in the mail cost me 23 dollars shipping??
That thing better be guilded in gold when it gets here!

Airmail? Works out the same way the other way around. I tend to have things send over from the US \"surface mail\" and wait 6 weeks instead of \"airmail\" and 5 days because of this.

Brushlicker and Freak!
Also Rackham have free worldwide shipping on orders over 120 Euros, which is pretty cool. Just means you need to save up and put in a big order.

Yeah.. thats 160 US dollars. And would probably garner me 4 minis at the most.

And considering I can get MOST of the Confrontation minis at my local LGS AND support them by doing so, I don\'t see that happening in the near future!

You\'ll get a hell of a lot more than four minis for 120 euros. :) This is how I usually buy Rackham stuff. Yes I can get most of it at a local store (and support them) but they cost me twice as much that way. It is far more economical for me to wait and put in a large order from Rackham\'s website. Then I can also get the mail order only stuff and it is always exciting to get a big box of minis in the mail!!! :wow:

Lurch,
are these things only available direct?
Could you have someone in the US buy them in a store that carries Rackham and ship them to you?

Yep, ordering big\'s the way to go. I have a few friends in town that order some stuff with me when we wnat exclusive stuff, plus I found out the percent they take off for Confederation also applies to the shipping.. Speaking of which, I need to see if I can switch to the English one.. (Scampers off)

I wish!

Wow, seven weeks, huh?! They can sometimes take a long time to send stuff. I\'ve had that happen in the past too. I think the demand is sometimes too much for their shipping people. I\'d send \'em an email if I was you. They\'re usually pretty good at responding.

At least the French mail system is efficient! They usually take ten days to Australia ...compared to three weeks from the US. Royal Mail is the best though ...normally a week to Oz.

Hang in there! It will be really exciting when it does turn up! ;)

Sent another one from work this morning so wait on their reply!

Rackham used FedEx to deliver orders. I guess that\'s what makes it so expensive overseas. And unfortunately, the mailorder exclusive stuff is mailorder exclusive (as far as I know).

They\'ve got some neat stuff that I wouldn\'t mind getting ahold of but to be honest, the host is prohibitive.

I don\'t mind spending the money on a miniature, but taking it in the shorts on S/H I draw the line and figure I can live without the miniature if I\'m going to pay three times the amount just to have it arrive at my door step.

You can always look on ebay too. Sometimes people go to rape you on the price of the figure but it turns out to be not too bad of a deal when you take into consideration the price of S/H that Rackham adds on.

Actually this is currently 100 euros. I ordered some stuff in December when all orders over 80 euro had free shipping...

Worth considering if you\'re a fan of their stuff ...which I must be, as I have a huge pile of unpainted Rackham minis, and a couple painted! lol

Lurch, I know a German shop that sells Mail Order exclusive minis. You could either ask there or have me buy them for you; shipping to me and from me to you should still be less than 32€. PM me if you\'re interested.

EDIT: I just took another look, if you order for 20€ or more there will be no shipping for adresses in Germany. Shipping would be 12,90€ from Germany to America via the German Post; I tried UPS, but they only show me an express option for more than 80€.... it seems they only do express, don\'t know why though.

Don\'t forget the eye-watering five days it took my exchange mini to get from green stuff in Lyon to me here in Canada! That was regular mail, costing a couple of euros. I suppose Canada Post gets to share the laurels on that one too.

I feel so bad for you, what with you living in a whole country full of Korean women.

I was going to buy some bases from Epicast when I saw the total order price in the checkout -- 25 dollars for bases, 35 dollars for shipping to Denmark

I try to do most of my buying in England now, shorter delivery times and cheaper postage. Too bad the States has such yummy stuff....

:):D
