This warlock is almost finished.

Depending on feedback I might downgrade him to WIP :). This mini is highly experimental for me - too many thing I have never tried before, OSL for once. Therefore feedback is very much appreciated.

Since this warlock is part of thematic force that supposedly operate deep in the Chaos-controlled territory I was trying to create as alien look for the base as possible. I hope it has sufficiently eerie feel

Thanks for comments

There comes a time in a minis life when you have to say enough. I think its enough for this guy. Looks spectacular. I voted a 9

Looks good, I\'m not a fan of your colour scheme, but your technique looks really solid and the OSL looks great, (your first effort, wow)

I tend to agree with the others: it looks great and I\'d probably call it done.

Wonderful work on the OSL, especially for your first time trying it. Voted.

Thanks for \"wow\" :)

Yes, the pattern on his robe is a freehand. I was wondering whether calligraphy pen would produce better result then just a regular brush so I tried it. There are two potential advantages 1) Calligraphy pen is very thin (0.3 mm) 2) ink is water-soluble, so if you don’t like the result you simply wash it off with clean water and repeat.

The result was mixed. It works amazingly well on very flat surfaces but not on curved, in addition, miniatures are too flat for this pen and provide very little traction, so, it is almost impossible to draw a long line (especially on a curved surface). Another problem is that you have to press the pen against the surface to produce a line, if you press too hard it scratches paint. So, I dropped the idea and all runes were done with regular brush and paint.

this was a 7.5:er for me, but i voted a 7 as i think the base (too much with the moss), makes me stare at its hideous red/yellow color rather than the mini itself, less or more natural basing and this would be an 8
