Naahhh, too much to ask, it\'s all about the power and the thinking you are better than everyone else.

The video does her no favours. I don\'t really have anything against her wanting to be called Senator. Her reply was however snotty, in a tone that is like she is a teacher addressing a naughty school kid who is out of line, and just smacks of \"I\'m better and you need to show that\".

It\'s childish and silly, I would have thought whatever the business of the committee she was on would have taken precedence over the use of her title. I doubt she would have addressed a WW2 veteran (not that I know whether he has seen combat or not, not that it really matters anyway) in that manner as she would have never gotten away with it. I don\'t know why but I found her annoying; I just find people who present themselves as better than others as just childish and pompous.

Actually it is probably a simple misreading of what he said. A lot of men would use the term as a way of lessoning her position.

In this case it was more likely a case of a military guy using terms he uses in his day to day work.

One thing I don\'t get is the old \"he has given so much so you can\'t critisize him\" arguement. It is childish.

In the military, you are taught to address your superior officers as \"Sir\" or \"Ma\'am\". Senators somehow fall in that group.

Call a Sgt or Staff Sgt in the British army \"sir\" and you\'re more likely to get a beasting lol The can (and usually do) call you whatever they want though...

Really? I thought she sounded like a whiney, spoilt brat. That might just be me though.

If I\'d been the General, I would then have called her \"Senator\" constantly while making it absolutely plain by tone of voice what I thought of the title, until she asked me to stop in embarrassment or annoyance. But then I\'m an ornery so-and-so!
