Well I am back from my first mainland Europe G.D.!

Paris, the Stad du France was the venue and what an awesome day it was.  :D

My first observation was, like the world of Military modelling, the boys on the continent are generally the best, sorry to all those who are not French or Spanish (me included ) but these young dudes are truly awesome :duh:   They are at the forefront of this hobby at the moment ,without a doubt!!!

No surprises that my favourite mini of the show was David Rodrigeuzs Space Wolf commander, an absolutely masterpiece :wow:I also had a great time meeting endless CMON ers,Jeff, Matt, Jeremie and hordes of others who are Known by 2 names(very confusing at times).

There was a grand get together at the Jet Lag restaraunt the night before which had 50 plus people invading it, the ambience and atmosphere was superb.

So I have come home shattered but really inspired, full of ideas and rareing to go,next stop Ravage Open in OCTOBER ? Paris again, YYYIIIIIPPPEEE !!!!

GOD bless the French !

Gamesday Paris

Hi Adie (vincenti), It\'s really cool to hear that you had a great time in Paris. I saw some pictures of some of the winning entries earlier today and was totally blown away. You were up against some terrifyingly fierce competition my friend. I\'ll take it you didn\'t win any trophies while there. Ah well, it happens to the best of \'em. I personally think that your painting is on par with what the dynamic young painting d00ds in Europe are currently producing. I reckon that the judges must have had their work cut out for them. Must have been a very fine line as to what made it through and what missed the final cuts. What an experience it must have been! I\'m seriously envious of you! Paint on! See ya, Chris

How can you go over there and not bring back any holiday snaps for us to look at? Shame on you! lol

It looks like it was a lot of fun from what I\'ve seen in other threads, some awesome minis (although less than awesome pictures of them :( ) and the stadium presentation gives GD a very grandiose feel.

Might try and make it over there myself next year, although I really doubt I\'ll be making my way onto the podium if you didn\'t!

Hej Adrian, it was a pleasure and great fun to meet you in Paris and to see that somebody can be in a rather mature age and still stay really, really cool...^_^...

Hehe, a nice packed rude remark maybe...?... ???... Don´t you worry, it´s ment positively... :D...

I feel very sorry for you did not placed, because I think that you had a huge change in your categories (mine included...!!...)... It is so weird, but you know, it´s all about being French / Spanish (I surely am of Franch / Spanish / Russian descent... :]...)...

Please make sure to show your pictures somewhere here, I will do so soon...:)...

Plus my Winning entry... until now I have just some crap pictures...

Edit: There you have a sneaky pic...

I Dont know if the French White Dwarf produces a booklet like the U.K. do ,but if they do it will be well worth getting.
Can any French CMONers let us Know ! ???

GOD bless ...........VINCENTI :D

Used to get to see every territories WD and if I remember correctly, last year\'s French Golden Demon coverage was in their White Dwarf itself. It\'s pretty much just the UK that get a booklet, the other countries do an in mag section.

It was good though, with the winners and loads of minis that didn\'t place but came close as an extra bonus.

I\'d think pictures will be on the French website before the week is out too.

I realise last year I ranted and raved about the Ravage Open competition in Paris and in the end due to Fire Brigade training couldnt go, but I will definately be going this year .Another chance to be with the Europeans and in Paris again is to much of an oppourtunity to be missed .
Any others thinking of going in October ???

GOD bless ................VINCENTI :D

Avicenna and I have been dying to go to Paris for something like the Mon de Jour, or the Paris Open etc. We both have a birthday in October.....so I\'m wondering if we can treat ourselves to a little trip

We\'d have a little time to save up, plus the kitties will be old enough to be farmed out to a cattery for the duration ;)

Fingers crossed...... :D

As Sebastian I\'ll be trying to attend both UKGD and ravage mix open! :)

Am I the only one that is in disbelief that This entry (possibly by Kiril) doesn\'t seem to have placed?
