I didn\'t know that was his. And since I\'ve seen so many photos of it I assumed it was something that placed. But, Kiril only got one demon AFAIK so if it\'s his then it didn\'t place. Hard to say if it\'s strange or not, not knowing what it was up against. But it\'s awesome, for sure!

It definately looks like his work and I know he only got one demon. And I can\'t find any remark in a thread concerning GDFR07 that those won anything. But on the other hand I only know two of the 40k regiment winners. Well I\'m looking forward to seeing pictures of them all.

Found this It\'s awesome too.. and if that\'s the bronze winner I guess those termies was up for some fierce competition :)

It didn\'t place because it was in the same category as the dread. Or so I read (on Dakka Dakka, I believe).

My fav is the daemonette. It\'s simply awesome.

So you mean it went into vechile instead of squad? Isn\'t that a bit wierd?

No, not really. In the states, we had combined categories like that. Warhammer Large Monster and Warhammer Regiment are one category (or at least they were last year, not sure about this year). One year, they did the same for 40K.

Even if it wasn\'t combined, it could have been a mistake. Putting in the wrong category number or turning in the wrong submission slip. So yeah, it\'s a reasonable possibility.

But it being in the wrong category as I said is from another forum, so take it with a grain of salt. Would best find out directly from Kiril.

Its possible it didnt place because its not I.P.
Thats G.W. speak for Identifiable Product.

I have it on VERY GOOD AUTHORITY that if its not I.P. it wont be placed, no matter how good the piece is:~(.

GOD bless ...........VINCENTI

P.S. More for Paris please !!! ;) :D

No No No, all wrong, DakkaDakka people have NO idea...

The real reason was that he entered TWO Enties... one in 40k Vehicle (Gold...) and one in Squad... the problem was that he won a Slayer Sword, soooo... he is only allowed to compete in one Category of his choice in France (and in some other GD Countries...)...

So he chose to disqualify himself with the unit and let the Cybot in, otherwise they would have taken out both entries...

That simple, he commented it the day before in the restaurant with a hearty \"Oooh, Fucken Rhules!!\"...:)... Kinda funny...:)...

I assume we will see that unit pick up a demon in another GD then. As he didn\'t win anything with it he\'s allowed to enter it again, right?

ah. right there we have the explanation! :) I only thought the DQ\'d french Slayer Sword winners from entering more then one category.

Wonder if he\'s coming to UK with that squad.. Hopefully yes!

If he can catch a flight for next week, he can bring it to the Atlanta GD. It\'ll give us a chance to examine his work and get tips up close! :D

Plus I\'m not entering the 40K squad category this year, so what do I care? <cackles>

Something weird I have just noticed .I only posted this topic4-5 days ago yet its had nearly 1300 readers yet only 30ish contributors, some of those more than once (me included). That seems quite sureal to me , maybe its the provocative title that catches peoples eye ! lol

By the way that I.P. comment I made still stands .DONT make your entry to weird and wonderful ,for as Alan Merrick(White Dwarf 4-5 months bac)k said U.K. G.D.s is primarily a PAINTING COMPETITION of G.W. figures !

GOD bless ...........Adie lol

Well. First of all, it\'s quite interesting to notice that the link to your topic there was given on Creafigs.com forum, as well as on spanish team forum. So you have a lot of \"one-shot\" readers who come, see, and never post because they don\'t have any coolmini account.
In an other hand, actually, your title is a little bit provocative (maybe the reason why I like it)... which could bring a lot of readers! Whoah! Vincenti knows the truth! We\'re going to know why these f#@*ing froggies seem damn so good and if their minis are as good as in picture...
lol

See you in Mix Open! I will try to choose a better restaurant, a kind of mix between last year and this year... Good food, nice place, but less noise and more space to move :)

Cheers

i know after seeing the standards over the last two years raising at an incredible pace, i need even more practice. (a lot of it)

going to try a bit of sculpting later this year as well.
hopefully next year i\'ll be able to get to france and meet up with people (whilst getting my arse kicked in the painting comps)

well come one man those are some beautifully painted mini\'s.... i just dont know how i can compete in the future. i wanted to go to gd chicago but apparently alexi z will be there. i love her stuff but i know that i just am not good enough yet. i guess reality kicked me in the butt. its kind of like how everyone has been coming to me for help at the local store for the past 6 months and then you see other ppl\'s stuff you then realize you aint all that.

its humbling. and a good way to keep someone\'s feet and ego on the ground. cheers all

@Bill
Basically it\'s a fantasy/sci-fi painting competition with the open system used in historical/military painting and modelling competition. That means there are no prizes but you get placed in a category depending on your skills. So, you don\'t compete AGAINST other painters.

Also, you don\'t enter any specific category like single miniature, vehicle, monster etc. but you enter a collection of stuff.

It is held in Paris at the Salon de Jeu convention which I believe is held between Oct 5-7 this year. Last year was the first Ravage Mix Open and it was mostly French painters attending. Needless to say the standard is EXTREMELY high. This year I expect more international participation and I look forward to being part of it! :)
