Now I hate the show and I am a man of the world but have got to say that the behaviour on an official site is just amazing.. A few trouble causers but some real anger being let out.. considering the show and the blog atract a lot of young kids how can it be allowed....

I\'m not sure what Univeristies are like in other countries, but here in the US we can generally count on professors to
1. Say the most asinine (racially charged, socialist-inclined, freedom depriving, low-IQ, or just-won\'t-work) things.

Being human, we tend to stick with those of our own. (Please note I am NOT saying this is proper or defending it). We shun outsiders and gravitate towards those with the same beliefs, attitudes, etc.. I honestly believe it is part of the human condition. Some sort of innate response.

So, when people \'group\' themselves together by racial lines, it isn\'t necessarily evil. It would almost be impossible to ask people to stop doing it. It\'s unfair to ask folks to stop doing it, when it is so reinforced in everything we do.

BUT, anyhow, my real point is this. Racial bigotry is NEVER going to go away. It will always exist in some form or another. If everything is the same, someone will find another reason to include or exclude you, some are trivial, some are appearance, some are intangible...I am not saying we should sit idly by while it happens, and I think it is extremly important to teach tolerance.

But its a much much more complicated issue of just saying \'stop racism\'.

Vike\'s got a point. If you doubt people are getting more tribal take a look at maps of Eastern Europe, the Middle East compared with the same regions a decade ago. We are becoming more fractious over time in spite of the pipe dream that we would have world unity.
