hi,

i have only ever painted gw stuff and recently i started looking for other models, purely for paiting, and fancied sum larger scales, i founs sndrea miniatures through these forums, and i love some of the models especially the aragorn LOTR 54mm,

now to the point of this, what are peoples experiences with andrea like, and what is the cast quality of the models like, as i will have to order online i want to make sure they are generally good quality.

i am also unaware of any stockist near me (south of the UK) and the postage on the andrea site is a lot for me so i was also wondering if anyone knows of some good reliable sites for the uk that stock andrea miniatures.

thanks, paul

Historex Agents

Historex Agents

this place is in Dover, they are probably one of the longest running mail order model companies in the UK (just celebrating 40 years this year).

In my experience using them (25 years +!) they usually deliver next day.

and of course they stock Andrea.....

fit of Andrea is pretty OK.....no-ones perfect though

Hi Paul, see my comments in this recent thread.

Phesmic and I ordered some Andrea Miniatures direct from the company last year. We ran into problems finding someone in Canada who stocked them properly, and then his credit card wouldn\'t go through over the web, so we had to fax the order into Spain. Then we never heard back for ages, until a package arrived (10am Saturday morning like 2 days before Christmas!) and there was much rejoicing.

The minis were pretty fabulous, I got Jack Sparrow knockoff and the two Last Samurai knockoffs (never painted em, if anyone in Canada wants to pick em up off me ;)) and Tom got a handful for himself. They really are great models, but some of them have fiddly assembly.

Overall I highly recommend them if you can find a reliable stockist. On the local front, Tom now works in a hobby store that can order in anything Andrea makes. So once again, much rejoicing.

I\'ve a little experience with Andrea, their cast quality kicks the poo out of GW!

I prefer Pegaso/Romero (same comany, well, sister company?). Their cast quality is outstanding and they are more than happy to replace anything you are not happy with.

54mm+ is a nice scale to paint.
