I feel like it needs some green/turquoise glazes in places to make him feel less Ultramarines and more Alpha Legion. Though that NMM armour is stunning :)

Er loads of green and turquoise in it hmm maybe the photo or light conditions or your screen dunno. Even the base has got sotek green and scaly green in it. I will check on my computer screen at work and see what the balance is like. I think that maybe the iphone has got the colour selection wrong

Have to agree with Zab Andy the green isn't showing through. Was trying to think what was missing but Zab nailed it. The painting is spectacular

Yeah it still looks blue on my tv and ipad. I think the camera is eliminating the greens O_O

Got the back done and prepped some of the steel bits. Still looks more blue than it is so gotta put it down to the iPhone.

He's coming along nicely Andy. The steel basecoat picks up a lot of detail - he's a more intricate model than I first thought. I hope you're enjoying him.

Hi,

Yep, the color scheme works pretty well. I never see that marine ever and I have to said that has become one of my favourites.

Many thanks,
Mariano.

Cheers guys. I must say its a surprisingly enjoyable mini to paint. The colour scheme is by far the coldest I've ever painted. Anyway a bit of free hand on the shoulder pad its a highly stylised calligraphy A for alpha legion.

Love the blues mucka, good call on the shoulder plate design also. Nice to see the mini off that painting block, I found the black / blue cracked paint really distracting to the mini (just my OCD I think :))

Really nice Andy! And that blackletter "A" on the shoulder pad is a nice addition to the "gothic" look.

Hope you enjoyed Euro Andy. :)

He's coming along very nicely. I especially like the pattern on his "loincloth" and the green/blue addition adds a great amount of depth and interest. My only concern is his left pauldron - the winged beastie seems to be a bit lost compared to the symbol on his right pauldron.
