Sorry not making myself clear gone from of tone blue/grey/white through the blends to white the problem I'm having is with having such a broad flattish curve that the blending through these tones has to be super smooth as with the top highlite being white the slightest irregularity shows up very starkly and ruins the effect. Though to be fair the answer probably is not doing any washes and using the ivory as a base and wet blending up from there rather than the cooler blue grey. Cheers lads

Ok back from holiday and a word of advice here DO NOT go on holiday with an eight month old ever ever ever inside hospital huge medical bills all ill great time eh?

any way enough of that I'm doing a commission piece here for a connoisseur and a complete change of subject matter an eldar harlequin never done eldar before. Going for a scary demonic but decadent look so purple through red and pink to white. No patterns on the mask as I want this as a focal point so don't want to distract the eye to much there will be lots of chequer effects etc on the clothes and card and heart motif throughout the clothes etc.

The checks are excellent. The stripes look a tad wavy in the picts though. The mask is sweet.

Hmm, not too sure about the checks Andy they look a little bit "off" just above the knee, might I suggest stripes of frog tape .Free handing something like that is something that would send me shrieking for cover, you would find me possibly hiding under the cats blanky

Yeah on the inside of the knee. Err nah the whole leg itself can't be more than about four mm across no room each square is only about a mm or even slightly less tried white tape no chance However will be doing that on the cloak.

Feck*ng annoying I think is the phrase that springs to mind but the convenience and the ability to post straight from the iPad now I know what I'm doing just about makes me not get the proper camera out ......just!

anyway more work on the free hand and gods does slow dry in the mix make a big big difference in painting free hand. This whole damn mini is just turning into a bloody canvas; well I suppose it gives me some practice.

That's brilliant! Even starting out replicating Jeremie's version is an enormous undertaking but you're doing a damn good job!

You really are putting in so much detail into this and pushing yourself, the results are great and very impressive.

p.s Your Emperors champion rocks, you really nailed the black which is probably the hardest (colour?) to shade and highlight.
