Finally got him on the base! Yeah! Still got the water effects to do at the front and the stone under his foot to blend into the base along with genneral tidying up and more jungle litter to put on. But its into the end game.

Nice! Did you just free hand that big leaf? Super smooth! The colors on that are perfect! I also really like how the bark is coming out. The one that you cut off looks really good.

Hmmm. My earlier concerns appear to be unfounded. The base looks great and doesn't detract from the elephant God at all. :curl-lip:

Really really nice, Will push my reflections on this one to add what I might want to change. Know you are not finished with this one so some of my thoughts might be things that you are on your way to adress.

Things that might be changed:
- The big leave, and perhaps the other ones on the same side almost looks to "clean" perhaps break them up with some glaze that breaks the cleaness of the job. The smaller leaves on the other side looks like the have been partly eaten by something, that breaks them up alittle bit and they dont "distract" too much from the whole.
- the ground sand/grovel areas might benefit with some more diffrence dark light areas to give it even more life. right now I have a feeling it is partly flat in colour and needs a little bit more variation.
. Leaves on the ground, give them more depth by putting some more colours darker ones into some of them. This to get a feeling that they might have been laying on the ground for a diffrent lenght of time.
- bottom step, I might have made a mix of the greener floor and the one above. It might make it "belong" too each other more. Right now I believe it looks to flat. Put some patches of the same grovel colour that is used above.
- Eyes on the Elephant warrior is not visiable in picture. needs to be adressed for it to become more of an focal point. (Perhaps it do looks good in RL, but hard too se just now.)
- the stone that the front feet is standing on should be harmonised with the floor area.

Dont misunderstand suggestions above, this mini is really great, it makes me want too paint it. Sadly I wouln´t make it justice as you have done. Really great job on this one.

I..

Well..

It's...

F*** Me Pink and Green, Andy that's the best thing I've seen you do.
You know my views on grey bases, so this one.....well I'm struggling for words so that says a lot in itself.

You have jumped up a level on both the painting & basing on this one mate.
I'm shaking your hand sir (and stealing your paints with the other :) )

Epic, now for sinbad and some stop motion!
Your work is very smooooooth and the basing sets the scene so well, neat to see the steps on the base work I was wondering how the blotches of greens where going to mould into the scenery.

Nearly done got to put some more leaf litter and touch up a few bits of damage on the reeds possibly glint the eyes a bit though to be honest the eye socket is that deep its shadow on the mini that's causing the problem hmm. Also a name plate for the base along with a bit of more contrast on the ropes etc. An evenings work and should be done. Pleased with my first proper attempt with water effects. The front is a bit misty as I had to file back into true but still happy with it no real bubbles to speak of. Thumbs nose at GW finecast LOL. Anything people can think of let me know and will take some pics and submit(WAMP first I'm after the comp!) then straight on gallery here. A bit bereft as I'm nearly done what will I do?

That is awesome Andy. The only thing that seems a tad off in the photo is the sharp edge on the paver below his left foot.

Just Wow! It's all come together so well and I'm jealous over how quickly you've done this while keeping it to such a high standard.
This is brilliant Andy.
