Better Barbarian pictures.

Hi guys some better photos taken threatend the camera :) though I realy do have to buy a new one. Will probably put a green glaze on the sword skraaal but its getting to the point of am I cluttering up the mini and is it best just to stop?

See what you all think now the better photos are in.

If there are no further suggested changes I will post the mini.

Looks great to me mate, great use of the base as usual.
The only thing imo that still needs a bit of work are the gems on the sword hilt - they looks a bit flat.
A green wash could work as skraal suggests but be careful, you dont want to have to repaint the sword again!

He looks super Andy - you've set the bar high with this one. His head and face are particularly good. I can't help thinking the top edge of the sword could do with a slightly lighter edge highlight but I'm really nit picking with that comment. The flesh tones and nmm are really working well for me. I like!

Great job - I like it a lot - well done - a very different take on the mini than mine - I love seeing that.

My only suggestion, if I had to give one, would be to maybe elevate some foliage or something slightly behind him (left leg corner) long grass or something... although it is minor and maybe unnecessary.

Could I also just ask the colours you've used on the belt?

Thanks guys!

Tried the green glaze on the reverse of the sword probably me but didn't look that good so going to keep the sword as it is. Next time I will integrate the colours into the paint job as I go along next step and all that!

Yes to the higher base/ extra foliage going to do a bit of bamboo like what Milosh did on his samurai.

Edge of sword and jewels I'm on it:)

Going to start looking for an iconic figure to paint next.

He looks really good to me as is. I love the simplicity of it. Not to usb colour wise. The base and the flesh tones compliment each other nicely as well.

Yeah saw that after I posted I had another look and couldn't see anything so I think it's bits of dust and crap from the foam carry case I put him in to get him to work. Bloody annoying though!;)

Great job with this one. I like the painting and the jungle atmosphere the base is creating.
Though - for my taste - the contrasts in some areas are just a little bit too strong, some of the dark shaded, outward directed muscle depressions/recessions seem to be a very little bit too dark. But that's just (my) personal taste.
So very well done :) Will go voting as soon as it is posted.

Fantastic Andy! Skin is awesome! And the rest is wonderful too. But the jungle folliage takes the cake! I really like the various plants you used. It's not overpowering but sets the tone nicely. It rocks!!!

I like it a lot.

But Andy I have one personal "bugbear"....Grey Ground.
It's something that we've dragged over from 'Old School' GW basing. Stones and rocks may well be Grey but Soil and Earth isn't.

Taking the grey of the stones and using a harmonious earthy colour would have given an extra "oh Yes that works" especially going up to the edge of a nice brown wooden base.

Ok got back of my holidays from the canary islands to a SUNNY England!!!! Gasp shock horror its stopped raining will wonders never cease?

Anyway to celebrate my home coming im painting a lovely Rackham Nova warrior.

10 ball suggested I do it in gold; I think he did that just to stick the Kibosh on it you B*STARD Lol:)

As you can guess it is not easy for starters its HUGE and very intricate. Giving it my best shot. Reasonabley pleased with it at this point obviously a lot of work to go.

So hints tips and suggestions if you please one and all.
