No no no I have never ever taken any illegal substances *cough*illegal that is in Amsterdam Switzerland or Peru *cough* especially not when I was a student! And anyway any apparent growth in my nose while I'm saying this is obviously an optical illusion trust me I'm a physicist!

Any way the spacecake er I mean the roulade is baked! It took a while to crumble all the hashi...I mean paint it all because I had the munch...er muse on me.

Not it sure which way to go either in a dry dusty cavern and I'm going to liberally deck it with cobwebs or go down the outside route and dry grass and stuff?

Heres some pics

that guy is looking so good. I think I like the idea of it being an outside ruin, just because he is so shiny. That is too bad you have been relegated to painting in the mop closet. What did you do to piss the missus off?

I kinda expected a green guy under that armor, I guess its too clean for an orc! Amazing work.
Outside, I agree.

Yeah he's an ogre not an Orc hence the skin tone and the relatively small skulls compared to his size. WGS if your going to have a fettish it may as well be about chocolate Swiss roll mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

done some on the base to make it outdoorsy. Tried putting real cobwebs on it looks pretty good irl not catching the light on camera. Got yo do some more glazing and stuff but nearly done. I'm thinking of taking this one to Euro. Any last minute tips on stuff for the base?

Maybe something for him to be looking at to bring the judges down to look up into his face. Maybe a skull looking back up at him. Does that make any sense?

I'm kind of agreeing with Demi here, it's a lovely paint job but from a judging perspective I'm looking for a "Focal point".
From the WIP pictures you've shown us, unlike the Elephant Guy who is looking "Up and Out" Axenarth is looking down, but at what?
Personally I think if you could do some "Finished Level" shots then we'd get a sense of what, if anything, is needed.

not enough skullz!

if it was me i had planted a flower for him to look at, and give him some ugly - beauty contrast.
oh, and real cobwebs is not a bad idea! i never though about it :)

Ok I'm going to do something for him to look at but I'm thinking between a treasure chest or an orc supplicant. But as it stands I'm going to take some pics for the gallery without any further changes as I need to put this down for a while and do something else you know; so keep an eye out for the submissions! I would love to see your interpretation of this mini skell!

Yeah I think it's great as is, you'll only be making perfect better if you get all artsy fartsy with the use of focal points, thematically contrasting icons, etc....

...some of us around here are just trying to paint gud. :)

Love the base!! It all looks very natural and definitely leads the eyes to the figure with the semi circle stones inside of another semi circle. Did you use real earth?
