Cool mini. First, that red beard compliments the skin tone perfectly. Reminds me of some Afghan village elders I have seen. Just the perfect shade of orange red. Next, your gold is as always the best in the biz. I like how it looks on those coin-like pieces. And good use of almost white on his head gear. Also, skin looks great but when I zoom in really close the highlights look a bit chalky. What are you using there? Not Ivory, is it?
Ive been using VMC smoke for my gold lately. There's a small example of this on my WIP. It's essentially a blackish brown, which I subdue somewhat with a matt med. Do you feel this is an acceptable replacement for the black you use in your own formula? I think I've seen you use brown to shade your gold in the past. What was your strategy there?
