Filed the neck down and reset but no way was the arm coming off so she's going to just have to be uncomfortable. I've made a start on the metals all the gold to do and a lot of refining yet but the placement and a couple of glazes are done.

Andy, do you usually glaze in your colors as you go? I thought you usually did your glazing more towards the end. Are you going for a more colorful armor here? I am trying to do some glazed colors onto NMM right now and am a little scared to f'up my NMM with the glazes.

No need to be as bold as the NMM master here. Sketch them in with a juice and lots of glaze medium. If you don't like it at least it won't be too strong, but you can always build it up more if you like where it is going, right? You can do it.

I've gone a bit more bold than normal here as I've added the glazes a bit earlier than normal. I'm going to go back over them a bit with some more thin placements of light grey and white glints. The coloured glazes will shine through but will be desaturated hence a bit more colour at this stage than normal. It's just me playing and messing about seeing if stuff works or not so stick to glazing right at the end if you like.

Don't worry about messing stuff up its all about learning to improve eh? If you don't mess up how do you learn what works and what doesn't?

have to say im not a big fan of this miniature. custom made boob plate mail armor? whyyyyyyyyyy .... ... !

paintjob looks promising though, cant wait for you to mess it up! :)

My question to you, good Skel, is why not????
A female cuirass always has a place for the boobs to go. That's nothing new with this mini. I think Andy picked her because he can really capitalize on his strengths with her shiney plate mail. So far so good, IMO. To me this mini has a classic D&D appeal about it. I love the duel wielding of maces and the paladin feel to it. I think a good base will really boost the mini. Will follow this project closely.

Here's a bit of the smoothing Avelorn. It's definitely D&D rather than real world they're kind of over the shoulder boulder holders I admit but heck it's still metal! ....I love metal!

Cheers KB im going to do either a dungeon step type thing or a bought base with ruined bricks and statue faces not quite decided yet. Going to do a load of free hand on the cloak and other material so a long way off yet.

Cool. Gothic steps with partial arch would fit the paladin feel too. The cloak screams for freehand after sitting next to the sweet nmm.

She looks board. Kinda like..."can't we just skip to the hack and slash part of this adventure" but you painting skillz are as always amazing.

Realistically and historically speaking, a chest plate with boob fittings would be a death trap. Any impact could deflect strangely, and lead the blow towards the body instead of away, or the plate might bend, making proper breathing difficult.

From a fantasy perspective, this is a standard set of plate, they don't make them any other way. And hey, boobs.

The NMM is fantastic, by the way.

Yeah armour should be smooth and angled in such a way to glance away blows but hey the boobs on the armour clearly contain the focus for a bless and protection from evil spell its all good! ;)

attached the cloak and started painting the material got the freehand to go over it yet big job that!

The speed you paint with and the result you produce are amazing. If you ever come over to Sweden for any reason you need to tell me so I can come and see how you do this :) Keep up the good work.

On my salary and with a two year old and a six year old and a wife who rules with an iron rod it ain't gonna happen any time soon, however why not come over with the Sweedish mafia aka Steff ritual avelorn etc we will be sure to do some painting then.

anyway I've started on the free hand a basic pattern underlying and some gold scroll work over the top. The gold needs shading and define in with some brown and black it's a bit splodgey at the moment but I'll soon whip it into shape also got big plans for the back.

Yeah if the Swedish "maffia" decides to go some day I would join in. My son is now older and easier to be away now for some periods.
