Cheers Steff much appreciated loved doing it. ST I look at it this way crocs are comfy and waterproof the colours of bird shit green are highly fashionable and the lack of laces indeed sides does away with all that bending over (which can be a chore if one is slightly portly) the style of wearing them without socks also helps do away with having to wash clothes indeed the holes in the tips and sides alows rain to enter and wash away the worst of the manly smell and toe cheese. So on every level a piece of foot apparel every decerning chap should have!

on a separate note I've started a small diorama with the base and figures integrated a la ten ball. Just started the painting here we go.

Oh man, Andy, I think your current approach to metals is going to look amazing on this model. It already does! Nice choice.

Not so much a wip more a finished piece. I enjoyed this one though the base didn't come out as well as I'd have liked. I always a struggle making trees realistic. The mini itself was a joy to paint. Rackham could really produce some lovely minis.

Beautiful, my man! Really nice job on that dark cloth.
Could we get a better shot of the sword situation? I'm not familiar with the sculpt.

Started on the lovely aradia miniature Toad King sculpt by Allan Carasco. Great stuff but I'm like yes a penis and ball sack adds authenticity etc but do you have to put one on every mini you sculpt?! FFS even Great lord Cthulhu has tentacle willies on the latest model. That all said its a great mini and I've sketched in the face and done the eyes.

That guy looks pretty smug after your ballsack rant. Feeling confident.

Excellent start. Eye is looking great already (I'm convinced the eyes are half the reason people like frog sculpts like this one!).

i completely agree, genitalia was fun on the first couple of minis like allans minotaur and rhinotaur, but now im also really bored with it.

Odd. I thought it would take a while to get your fill of tiny penis o_O

For once that sounded exactly as i meant!

yeah the eyes were really quick just rough stippling to give a bit of texture a reflex light for the top of the eyes and then glazing down to red through yellow and orange. I think I'm starting to get colour at last (pride comes before a fall so I will have to watch that statement!)

I like the higher contrast from the face, but the belly something is missing more contrast or a different shade? maybe only the pictures.

Looking good, I really like the shades of green you've got on this guy!

One suggestion (and this depends on the look you're going for), but what if you put on some very small dots of pure white highlights in areas? Somewhat similar to NMM but not quite. The idea would be to create a wet shiny look for his skin. I was trying to find an example of what I'm talking about and the best I could come up on short notice with is this guy painted by Ben Komets. Take a look at the spot highlights on his arm.

Obviously it's not something that has to be done, but it could be a cool effect. Just something to think about trying!
