Ok back from scale model challenge. Wow what an amazing event. Truly huge with the better part of a couple of thousand entry’s in the painting comp. Two huge halls of traders (170 I think they said.) Brilliant venue an old nunnery or penguin farm as Mike called it with a nice bar. The standard of painting was phenomenal with the likes of Kiril entering. Spent a fortune on resin and painting stuff. By far the best was meeting up with John (Megazord man) Mike Mally Conrad and all the others. And being introduced to the likes of Kiril and Ben Curry. That all said I managed to walk away with a Gold in Fantasy standard. So chuffed! Here’s a bunch of pictures.

Loads of entry’s some new some old. The one they liked the best was Thor.

I’m working to texture the skin giving it a leathery look. One thing I definitely learned at SMC is that I have only half completed my minis when I think they are completely done. Loads more work needed.

CONFESSION TIME!

One of Andy’s minis was damaged on the way over. I gave him the use of my Emergency Repair Kit to fix the sword back on Conan.
BUT when I was collecting mine I caught the sword with my sleeve and ‘CLICK’ off it came.
NEVER EVER FELT SO HORRIFIED IN MY LIFE.
​REALLY REALLY SORRY!

Congratulations on your gold, worthy winner. Please go easy on Mike, he was probably only trying to give the rest of us a chance to catch up to your level via a little sabotage!
