hey, a few mins ago i accidetally put a HUGE white fingerprint on my virtually finished blood angels rhino, which i airbrushed so it will look out of place where the fingerprint is even after i have painted it again.

and when i realised i did it i swore...alot... and then almost threw the rhino against the wall, luckily i restrained my self,

i was wondering if any of you guys have good stories of thing like the above of genrally just accidentaly or purposefully lol doing thing to models.

SOME body (a frequent member of these forums) grabbed a can of white primer instead of matt sealer.....

I\'ve had cats rub up against my models as they were still tacky from the DulCoat. :flame:

I spent most of summer on a gd entry.
then the little brat* goes and breaks it while looking at it.

also when I get angry I break my models. like I had spent a week painting an emporers champion model and then I got angry with the brat* and break it.the same happended with an inquisitor model, I spent soooo long on. then I tried to do osl and it it looked :cussing: so I broke it up.

@airhead- that sounds so annoying with the primer, i would be so annoyed if i did that, casue i assume he had finished the model, fortunately i have not been in the hobby long enough to have too many mistakes lol

I remember that from a few threads back and almost everytime I go to dull coat I think of it and double check that it\'s really dullcoat.

A little rubbing alchol on that cotton swab should remove that white finger print.. just be careful when doing it.

But yes I was spraying clear coat on a wooden base I had just make from Hawiian Koa and picked up a can of black paint instead of the clear coar. I was lucky I had spreayed it once already so I took some mineral spirits on a rag and whiped it right off.

I have a tendency to drop minis a lot when I\'m working on them - especially competition entries when they\'re nearly finished. I think the one time I had to really restrain myself was when my son first found one of daddy\'s minis and used it as a hammer...

Me too and I use paint on primer!

I had a figure that i had worked months on the skin tone, getting advice and help from Whiz via emails. Got the skin done, best skin i ever did and chose to attach it to the base so i could hold it easier. There must have been a bit of dried glue in the nozzle as it was bearly comeign out and then, POOM, drenched the model and my hand and leg is super glue. So i tore the model\'s head off, cut it into chunks and had the wife worried as i giggled the whole time i was dismembering the figure.

The big thing that happens to me is paint splatter. As I\'ve said before, I mix my paint into little snap top pots. Closing them can splatter paint all over the place. That and cat hair is an issue. I tend to keep minis covered when I don\'t actually have a brush to them.

When I get mad I swear and then have to explain why I\'m swearing to the family and then I swear about having to explain and then I get even more hot and just stop painting for a while.

I just finished and photographed my Griffin inquisitor that i had been workin on for a good while, my wife wanted to look at it... she dropped it and chipped a large portion of it.

We didnt talk for a while after the initial burst of swearing! lol

I did the primer/varnish thing with the store Fenbeast that I\'d spent all day painting up. The manager just laughed his arse off and made me do the damn thing again :cussing:

i have a bin set up in such a way as to resemble a basketball net and many minis leave the world this way, that or the dreaded wip drawer

I\'ve had anger issues since I was a kid..

Last bad thing I did was throw my PC out the window when I got screwed over in WoW.. that mistake cost me 1.7k in new computer parts.

When I paint and mess up I punish myself by pouring Pine-Sol into my eyes.... I learn my lessons quick with that..

Actually...i did do this (in case you weren\'t referring to me) But the scary thing is after I learned my lesson, I put a great big piece of blue tape marked PAINT right on the lid.

About a week later, I ALMOST did it again....the lids got swapped the last time I used them....Only a last second check of the paint can saved me!

Back in 2002, I had just finished a 20 man unit of black knights. I was getting ready to do some skeletons, but the nozzle on the Vallejo bottle was clogged. Long story short; Nozzle flies off. Paint flies out of the bottle. One unit ruined.

I striped them and re-prepped them for painting but never got around to finishing the army because of that.

and about what i originally told i did to my blood angels rhino, i painted it all back up and i was surprised that i could hardly notice it, then i noticed some more (smaller ) white marks on the top, but some wearthering covered it up nicely, then i went back to start the paiting again and before i put the brush on the model i looked at the underside of my hand to make sure i hadn\'t dipped it in any fresh paint, lucky i looked as the whole bottom part of my hand had fresh brown paint all over it....close one

If I ever muck up or do a mistake, I shrug my shoulders, walk away from the painting table and read a book or listen to Radio 2.

The computer thing is a bit drastic. But I knew a guy who would throw the controls when he lost at Mario Cart.

Then there highschool friend of mine I played in a Morheim league with in the States. His war band lost three straight that day. So he took a lighter and melted the miniature that failed the break test the store. He was going for another one when I said, “Dude. You know how much GW stuff cost.” Then he stopped.
