I had an old Tin Bitz that litterary exploded inside my cupboard.. I guess there must have been some kind gas build up or something.. well. It smelled really funny afterwards. Fortunately I had my paints in a sepparate box so it didn\'t stain anything important.

how about dropping miniatures and then struggeling to repaint chipped parts? Happens to me all the time.. maybe I\'m just clumsy.. (or because I paint my minis on a stand)

I spent ages painting this one guy and was almost to the end when I dropped him on the floor. the painted chipped off his head, I was gutted, I could,nt really paint the flesh back on because it would,nt look right so he ended up with a metal plate in his head. Hmmm, 1001 cleaner used to work, if you got to things when they were still wet.

I\'ve heard that that new pink \'Oxy\' Vanish stuff will work, but haven\'t needed to try... YET!

If the tablecloth is white and non delicate, you may be able to bleach it ???

There have been a couple of time\'s when I was painting and stopped to grab a drink of water and almost take a big swallow of paint water. Yuck :|~

@ Brother Tom, please tell me how you did the white armor on the Veteran Kasrkin Sergeant mini. I love the way it came off, maybe the best white armor ever.

I just started painting again after several years. I had an old case of Armory paints, glass with screw on lids. These are dried up like rocks. Is there any way to revive them? I about choked when I realized mini\'s cost 4 times as much as they used to and are mostly plastic. Not to mention a complete set of paint from GW or the like is $325.00
SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) would go through the roof haha! 325!? For those little bity paints? Obviously she came along after I had quit painting years ago and just doesn\'t understand the hobby.

For me it\'s usually the other way around. I\'ve cleaned my brush in my coffee mug numerous times. If I place the coffee far away from my painting area so it\'s not so easy to reach and my water mug nearby, I tend to reach for the coffee mug anyway. :duh:

Nop, no reviving paints, I\'d love to be able to do that with all my dried up GW paints but unfortunatly they\'re good for the trash.
If you\'re starting to paint again you might wan\'t to start by buying just the necessary paints and expend your collection as you need the collors. Mixing paint isn\'t that big of a probleme just takes a bit more time.
As for a set going for 325 last time I checked to buy a vallejo complete set I think it came around to 129 and that was with the inks metallics galze medium and smoke. So 325 is definetly a rip of.

If you\'re starting to paint again you might wan\'t to start by buying just the necessary paints and expend your collection as you need the collors.

This also has the advantage that it sneaks your purchases past SWMBO, a few at a time. It\'s like having an affair - cash only, NEVER pay with your credit card. The receipts never come home, in fact they never even go in your pocket - bin them in the store. Pretty soon you\'ll be in fine painting shape, and she\'ll never know.
