This is my Angron...
http://www.coolminiornot.com/222106
This is the first time that i have posted a model on CMON in ages and i know it is a W.I.P but why is the ranking so low? at the moment it is currently 5.9 on 4 votes, i mean i know the photo\'s don\'t really help but i even did my first attempt at \"soul armour\" and free hand banner painting , here is a close up of the soul covered shoulder pad

seriously is there anything else that i can do that might help improve my rating? (for a start i know that i should finish him)

It is the photos, period. And really, four votes do not a score make. But, I\'d be voting in the 6-7 range on this right now. There are harsh shadows, the details are NOT apparent, and there\'s an XBox sitting next to it. Additionally, people don\'t read. A WIP will often get the vote as if it were a finished mini, and things not finished deduct.

Harsh reality, but there it is. Reshoot the figure without the clutter, play with the macro feature of the camera to get in the details, diffuse the lamp light with a thin piece of paper, tracing paper, tissue something (yet be careful and don\'t set the place on fire), make the photo montage LONG rather than stuffed into a box on the screen so the features will be bigger, and you should see an improvement.

crap photos and it\'s a wip. this is coolMINIor not. it not even a whole mini. wips are best on the wip thread, you\'ll get much better feedback. tbh i wouldn\'t even bother voting on that if it came up

its all about the pictures, I cant even see the \"soul armor\" aspect on the photo for voting.
Also there is always the increasing standards, I know I took 3 years off of CMoN and came back some time ago only to find my scores are a full point lower than they used to be, even the same mini, same photo.

Hello again guys (and gals) i have taken on board the advice you have given about the picture quality/ getting me other projects out of the frame... before i post another Cmon i thought i would post the new pics up here first to \"test the waters\" to see if it makes it any different

well the pics are certainly better. what sort of score are you aiming for? you strike me as the type who paints for an army so wouldn\'t spend hours on standard troops? you style is effective but rough around the edges. if you watered your paints more you could build up colour transitions more gradually and therefore have a smoother paint job. it depends on how long you are prepared to spend tbh

the souls on the armour look pretty good though (from what i can make out!)

Not bad, but need to see more done to really comment. It looks like you might need to push the contrast more, but hard to tell at this point.

The icon on the base is obscurring the models, you need to raise the base.

I\'d probably vote around 6 right now.

The model lacks a bit of contrast in my opinion. The grey thingys on his back seem to be just one heavy coat of grey, which dosn\'t give the best effect. And trevor is right about the base.

But a definite improvement from the first pic.... ;)
