why do huskeys have black tongues?

white with black i would say due to more of them being white and sometimes they have white undersides where the stripes dont reach

why do huskeys have black tongues?

http://images.google.co.uk/images?u...t=result&cd=2&&q=husky+tongue&spell=1&start=0

they dont?

edit: pure breeds have pink tongues but if they are crossed with a different type they can have dark purple patches

ok i got one, if i got all info correct, a dogs saliva is about 100 times more clean than human, while a cat's is more or less poisonus ( -> doctor if bitten). how come there's a general opinion that cats are clean and dogs are dirty? is it the smell? :D

Cats have a natural deodorizing chemical in their saliva, which is why they clean themselves with their tongue and prefer never to get in water. It's kind of interesting. Get real close to a cat and let it breathe on you. (I have two, can verify this) You won't really smell anything.

Dogs on the other hand usually have such bad breath you might be nauseous afterwards.

If you're bitten by EITHER you should seek medical attention as both dogs and cats carry bacterium that are quite harmless to them, but that most humans do not have an extensive defense against. Also, you know....Rabies.

My Question: Is it true that you can stand an egg on it's end and it'll stay up during an equinox? Heard this, but never verified. (An Egg is an undeveloped chicken, so I think it fits into the criteria of the thread)

SOmething additional. First dogs eat even rotting flesh when they are really hungry. Cats dont. They are perfect detectors, if your chicken in the fridge is still fresh... Dogs eat everything.
There are no parasites from a cat, that can kill you. But dogs can have at least three. Adding not killing but only nasty parasites the dogs have much more.

Bites from cats arent more poisonous than a bite from a human beeing. Both have an enzyme (not the same) that cannot be removed by the own body. So bites get normaly inflamed.

A dog can sleep with dirty furr in his basket. Have you ever seen a cat doing this? *smile*

You want to stand yourself on a egg, or do you think about to set an egg in "standing" position? Well if the second: Kolumbus has shown this in a discussion.... and it was no equinox...

well good points there Idof&Tag. of course you should also go to the doctor if a dog bites you. whats interesting is the fact that a dogs saliva have about 100 times less 'dirt' (i suppose dirt means germs) than human.
i got two cats myself, and yeah they dont smell very much at all (except maybe after a long nap :) )

Are you serious? I have to hold my breath if my cat yawns when shes sitting on me. The mixture of her fishy food and whatever she decided to kill outside is deadly!

Yes it is true. Course, it's true for every day of the year. I've actually done it. All it takes is patience and a willing egg.

Or simply a already cooked one. Than you hit it with one end on the table and it will stand there until your wife will tidy it up, you have hunger, or it is eaten by maggots... *smile* That was the trick Kolumbus used...

Seeing myself as a bit of an egg balencing eggspert (see what I did there..), like someone else said, just find the right egg, sometimes the shells can be so thin you can see through them and they feel like jelly (they are freaky and ive only seen two or three though). Basically any deformed egg you should be able to stand up like that.

Actually contrary to popular belief the best way to store and egg is with the narrower end pointing down, not the fat end pointing down. It keeps the eggs fresher for longer...

Damned part time egg sorting job...

problem is, once you have given it ot the cat and found out it's ok, the cat has eaten it!!

they are treated as more serious normally. sen plenty of bites in a+e. saw someone nearly loose an arm after being bitten by a cat. humans are pretty bad though

yes we did, now leave in shame!

I don't know about cats being clean...a woman in my Bible study was just bitten by her cat, and she said that she was lucky to have kept her hand. Apparently the infection is still so bad that, 6 weeks on, she is taking her third course of antibiotics; it's rather obvious, as her hand is still very swollen and puffy. Her husband, a PT, says that she'll likely have arthritis in three finger for the rest of her life.

I know the enzyme taggi mentioned is an issue, but there was definitely a bacterial issue that needed to be addressed.

I think cats have the reputation for being clean because of the odor thing that has been mentioned, but also because of the apparent way they treat their feces. Dogs just leave it, while cats try and bury it. Cats also don't want to use litter boxes that are uncared for (usually) so I think that contributes to it as well.

I know that one. There was a horse race with cameras to catch each step. A wager was placed on if a horse was faster than something. The determined that pictures taken in sequence like that can be compiled and viewed as a motion picture. Also, the fencing the horse ran in front of was used as index points. And I wish I could remember more.

Not quite true about cats and water. They found that cats from Northern breeds were afraid of water but cats from Southern breeds are not.
For example, Jaguars and Tigers take to water, it's instinct that water is cooling in hot weather but for Northern breed if their fur get wet in the cold they could die of hypothermia so they avoid water. Even how long down the line cats are from Lions and Tigers, they still have this instinct.
For example with dogs, before they lie down, some will circle the stop they want to lie on even if it is on the rug. This is traits that Wolves do to flatten down their bedding ( Grass/ leaves ) a trait still carried in dogs.

I believe the bet was over whether at any point the horse's legs all left the ground at the same time.

Cats and dogs are both durty wee buggers. Cats shove their bum in your face, and dogs get jiggy with your leg.
