Another Chicago GD entry

Here is my Chicago GD entry for 40k single. It made the cut but didn\'t place. The armor came out a bit flat, but overall I like the piece. The grots are my first complete sculpts(I have a greater appreciation for Brian Nelson now.) I ended up repainting the grots after Gamesday.

Extremely cool! There are two kind of Orks that I like: One is the dark, dirty, grimy, absolutely bad-ass, tear your head off and stuff your arms down your neck style, which yours really isn\'t. Fortunately the other sort is the larger than life, over the top, big, loud, extravagant, amusing and weapon laden sort, and yours certainly fits the bill!

My favourite bits are the bullets and the grot trying to prize out the marine helmet. Both brought a smile to my face.

If I could make one suggestion it would be to work at the muzzle flares a bit. I’m not sure if the problem is the flares actually, more the fact that there is no lighting effect from them, but all in all it is top!

HOLY CRUD!!! I don\'t remember seeing this one but I wish I had.

Although I will say there were so many figures that made the first cut in single I was sure I missed a few.

This is a brilliant piece, absolutely Brilliant!!

Vey cool, I like the grot on the arm, great expresion. I think it needs some osl from the muzzle flares. I would also up the highlights on the red armour. Did the vote thing.

I\'ve also seen in your gallery... i\'ve found one of the most beautiful diorama i saw in my life... you\'re a very original and genious painter!

The diorama rocks ...The Ork is sweet also those shell casings look fantastic.

Tough category the single mini but that piece is nice.
one question wouldn\'t a mega armoured Ork fall into the monster category??

In the US rules they state that anything that comes on a 40mm round base can be entered in single. Maybe I could have entered it in 40k large if I had wanted.

Just fantsstic!!! so much character in it, and as said beforen the shells and the grots are those simple little touches that make a great mini a truly fantastic one.

The slayer Giant diorama is also cool, and once again you have really captured those little extras to make it great. I especially love the dwarfs trodging through the snow with it being up to their chest.

You my good man rock!:drunk:

The mini is very characterful. Love the grots. the red is a bit flat but the weathering is excellent. The only other critism is the checkers are a bit uneven. Still worth a 9 from me. Great work.
